POV DESMOND

"How long until they get here?" Nathaniel asked Clint.

Clint turned to face the woods, listening, "Possibly twenty minutes, maybe less."

Nathaniel turned to me, "Go inside the house. Samuel and Dean are waiting there for you." I nodded and quickly walked inside. I walked in and saw Samuel and Dean looking over a map with different colored marks.

Samuel turned to me, "Good evening, Desmond, how are you?" It was such a casual question in the face of the immediate danger I kept getting myself into.

I shrugged my shoulders, "As good as anyone can be with a clan of vampires after them."

Dean laughed, "Don't worry about them. If it's Dedra and his lackies we are fine."

I raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean? I thought Dedra hated Nathaniel."

"That's what we wanted Thomas to think," Samuel said, turning back to the map. "But in reality, Dedra has been working with us and the shifters for years."
