Chapter 17: Deployment

I ignored Tristan and went back to my bedroom with the jug. I knew what he was asking. He should congratulate me for resisting the temptation to feed on my mate.

Time moved slowly the next day and Tristan later walked into my office with some news.

“Your Highness, the council will be convening shortly,” he informed.

I stood up and walked out of the office and we headed to the council hall. After my instructions yesterday I knew they wanted to suck up to me and report on all their departments.

“I would like to reschedule this meeting. Since you all expressed your concern about the border visit, I want to prepare for it. I will always inform the coven council before I leave the city. Hence, I will be meeting every one of you for thirty minutes daily. We can start today if you all like?”

“Your Highness, the purpose of the council is to take the burden of some of the coven management out of your hands.”
