Veron set his eyes on his unexpected visitor, who just addressed him with a title he already disassociated himself with. Gideon, a beta wolf and one of Veron's best friends when they were still very young. He was the son of the royal shaman in Silver Lake.

When Veron was banished from Silver Lake, Skye followed him with his family, while Gideon decided to stay back and hone his skills so that he could prove that Veron was innocent of the crime he was accused of.

At first, Veron was hopeful that they would find a way to prove him innocent, but when after fifty years nothing happened, he gave up and also told Gideon to give up. However, the guy insisted that he must finish what he had started, which caused problems between them.

"What are you doing here, Gideon?" Veron scowled. He had an idea what Gideon wanted to talk about, and he didn't think he was in the mood to hear it.
