Peace

The heart is both a tool and a weapon.

A shield and a sword.

For the wise know that what kills a man is not the sharpness of the sword,

But the intention of his heart.

Just like what punishes a man is not his sins

But rather Justice.

"I have no idea. I simply….".

"Shut up". Cole Malo, The Don of the Malo gang interrupted the young man who was tied to a chair in front of him with a punch. Blood gushed out of the man's mouth as his head swung sideways from the punch he received.

The man was in his late twenties. He was a staff member in the gas station where Cole Malo's Cousin, "Scott Malo" and four of Scott's guards disappeared the night before. Cole Malo had abducted the young man seeing that he was the one on duty on the day of the attack and brought him to one of his safe houses to squeeze out any information he could get from him.

"My Cousin's car was found at your fucking station. It also looked like a big fight went down there. You can't tell me you don't know anything. You should have seen what went down. Cole said angrily grabbing the young man by the neck.

"I swear, I don't know". The young man cried out bitterly.

"You fucker". Cole screamed as he punched the young man again. This time he sent a tooth out of the young man's mouth. Cole Malo had destroyed this man's face. The man's head was more colorful than red cherry at this point and his bloody eyes swelled out like it was about to fall off.

"Don Malo". his Butler, Charles, called out from behind him. Cole Malo simply ignored him. "Don Malo?". Charles called again.

"Can't you see I am fucking busy Charles?". Cole replied angrily.

"There is a call for you". Charles said.

"I don't have any fucking time for any other business right now". Cole replied as he landed another punch in the young man's face.

"It's from your brother, Felix". Charles replied.

Felix Malo was the younger brother of Cole Malo.

"Give me the phone, it better be some good news". He said as he moved towards Charles to take the phone from him. "Felix, Have you found Scott?" He asked.

There was a long silence and Felix seemed to have given him some bad news which made Cole make a long face.

"Give me the location". He said and then there was another silence before he ended the call.

Cole snapped his fingers at Charles the moment he dropped the call and Charles seemed to understand as he brought him his suit.

Cole was a fine young man. He was in his early forties, he was as short as Scott, but He was more muscular and he wasn't bald. He stretched out his hands so Charles could suit him up. The frown on his face didn't hide how handsome he looked.

As Charles dressed him up, Cole wondered what could have happened to Scott.

"Damn those Pitchers". He muttered under his breath.

"Did you say something?". Charles asked.

"No". Cole replied. " I can do the rest". He said to Charles who was trying to button up the suit.

"Ok. Sir". Charles said as he stepped back. "Is there a problem Sir? You seem to be angry since you got done with your call". He asked.

"Felix found the body of Scott's guard at one of the Pitcher gang's abandoned factories".

"Shit!" Charles exclaimed. "What about Scott? Did they find him?" He asked.

"Not yet. He hasn't found Scott. He's still looking. But I pray for the sake of the Pitchers that when Felix finds Scott. He finds him alive and well".

Cole said angrily.

"Shit. Those fucking Pitchers. I suspected them. Are they trying to get back at us for what Scott did to them two years ago?". Charles asked.

"I don't know. But what I know is that they won't go scot-free for this". Cole said. "Tell Phil to bring the car to the front, we'll leave soon".

"Ok, sir. Charles replied. He turned to take his leave but turned back again as though he remembered something. "What about him?"He asked, referring to the young man who was tied to the chair bleeding profusely.

"Bring me Peace". Malo Cole ordered his guard Matt who stood a distance away observing everything that had been happening. He was holding a sword, and on the sword was written, "Peace" in Japanese. The sword belonged to Don Cole Malo. He had returned with it from Japan during one of his business trips. He named the sword 'Peace' even though all he did with the sword was take away the victim's peace. He always made sure that most of his vulnerable victims met their death by his sword. Matt handed over the sword to him and he unsheathes it.

"I'll give you one last chance to redeem yourself". He said to the young man who sat weakly on the chair bleeding profusely. "Were the Pitchers the ones responsible?".

"I don't know who…"

Cole swung his sword to slash the man before he could finish his statement. He cut through the man's chest down to his belly. The hole in his tummy gave passage for some of his organs to come out. The young man couldn't scream. He was already too weak to struggle so he sat there and watched as his intestines popped out of his belly. There were tears in his eyes, but that didn't seem to bother Cole who swung his sword again and wiped the man's head cleanly off his neck. The whole place was a mess by now. He had practically butchered the man.

"Clean this up". He said to his guard, Matt as he threw the bloody sword at him, before walking off.

'If Cole could be this brutal with this man who did apparently nothing. He pitied those who had dared to harm his beloved cousin, Scott'. Charles thought as he followed him out of the building.
