Chapter 1: Don't Diss Doomsday preppers, You’ll regret it.

I used to watch vids online about doomsday preppers, don't ask me why, they just appeared on my timeline and I thought, 'stuff it why not', and then I started to ridiculed them in my mind. I mean the level of apprehension of an oncoming apocalypse was only eclipse by cults and the biblical worshipers. Don't even get me started about the amount of money they were spending, food, materials, equipment, bottled water, sinking money into oblivion, it was stupid.

But I guess they weren't that bad. People had moved on to man caves more these days, every man needed a hobby and something to spend his extra cash on. But that was when I was younger. I didn't watch many of those videos anymore and I really should have known better.

With a name like Michael Smith, blame my parents, I really should have known the dangers of cosmic irony or karma. I had been shitting on people that just liked to prepare for the worse, I should have kept my mouth shut.

My life was normal, well as normal as you could get, living in Australia. Work, play games, repeat. That changed though when on a random gamble I, like every other person in the world, decided to buy into the 1 billion mega draw lotto. Anyone that didn't buy a ticket for that one was stupid, the fact that it had jackpotted to such a number must have been some type of fixing behind the scenes.

To my great shock I fucking won!

I'll repeat that, I Fucking WON!

Now some people don't know the immensity of 1 billion dollars, but think of it this way, to make 1 million dollars on a normal salary will in general take 10-20 years for the average person. I made the equivalent of working for over a millennium, way over a millennium.

What do you even do with that type of money, at the time I had no clue. You can do anything with it. It would take a life time of bad decision to spend that much. That choice was easily made though with the events of the day.

Why?

Because the apocalypse actually started and it was being led by a being called Darkside. Now if that wasn't a little on the nose, I don't know what is; but seeing as freaking Superman himself was being controlled and wreaking havoc over in America you can understand why I shit myself and had a life changing experience.

Thankfully it was all sorted out in the end, but I realized at that moment that nowhere on this planet was safe. Literally you had heroes and super villains popping up everywhere, thank God they were mainly situated in America and parts of Europe.

But I couldn't be too careful, I didn't think it would be too long before even here, down under, would receive our own crazies, or worse another world ending threat. So, I did what anyone else would when their life is threatened and they had a butt ton of money.

I started watching dooms day prepper videos again and started planning.

One of the good things about Australia is the fact that it is big. It's the only country that is also a continent. At the same time the government for some reasons likes to sell land off to wealthy people, something I now was. Quickly hiring some people to manage my funds, plus invest, I set out to own a property in the middle of nowhere, where no one would bother me.

Most of my investment from what I was told went into both Wayne Tech as well as LexCorp, 2 of the biggest global powers. With them practically printing money I wouldn't have to worry about making a living ever again, but that was beside the point.

It took 1 year, 650 million USD and possibly a few bribes, but it was finally perfect and safe. I first bought a piece of land about 150 miles from the closet town, a bit far from society but that was the point. I bought a good few acres of land meaning no one should get close.

Secondly, I dug out a huge area to start my doomsday bunker, when it was finally done, it was 500 meters deep and 5 km long made of titanium, steel, concreate and led. I heard somewhere that led was one of the only substances that Superman couldn't see through, and by God I was hoping to stay unnoticed.

Segregating that into larger sections for food storage, as well as equipment to grown my own food, if necessary, was what took up most of the room as well as stores shelves stocked with long life cans. I had equipment that could purify water along with 4 backup generators to keep the power running, I didn't exactly ask what power source they used but as they cost 10 mill a pop and could run everything for years, I wasn't complaining. I think it was something from Wayne tech.

The smaller parts of the bunker were made for comfort, things like a small swimming pool, bathroom areas, cinema room and living space. I also added a gym and basketball court as it was one of the games, I could play by myself. I also added a shooting range, because I always wanted to try out shooting, cost me a bit extra to slip that by the officials. The bunker could survive anything less than a nuclear blast from what I was told, it could have survived one of them if it was deeper but it was relatively close to the surface.

Finally, after getting the best heating, lighting and electronics I could think of as well as making sure it was structurally sound, I finally started building my house up top. That cost a lot less, only around 50 mill. I didn't go for anything extravagant it was a 5-bedroom house, 2 stories, 3 bathrooms and toilets as well as a living room and kitchen, it was mainly for people to look at, I would be living in my bunker.

After getting the best satellite dish possible for a good internet connection, something extremely hard to do in Australia, I was finally done, or mostly done. Sometimes I thought that money changed people, but I pushed that thought aside and took in my work.

Finally, I could be safe.

At the same time, I was now known as an eccentric/insane lottery winner who had blown his cash creating a doomsday bunker, the prepper community had accepted and lauded me as one of their own, one of their best.

See cosmic irony or karma.

But none of that mattered I was safe, not many people actually knew exactly where I had set up my house, just knowing it was somewhere in the Australian outback, I had to pay a lot to make sure that happened.

I may or may not have been a bit paranoid and paid extra to make sure my address was lost in official records, but when you've got money, you may as well spend it. With a big enough 'donation' to the tax collectors they shouldn't be bothered to come Harras me either.

Being known as insane and eccentric would keep people away, along with the state-of-the-art defense system I had installed, should anyone trespass on the property.

Finally, I could sit back and relax. With some of my money I was commissioning a train network to swing within 20 miles of my house should I ever want to go into town or travel the country, but other than that, I was alone.

Just the way I liked it.

It would be a year later before anything notable happened to disrupt my quiet life in the form of a knockout blond with.... SUPERPOWERS?!?!?!?

OHH FUCK YOU UNIVERSE!

I SAID I WAS SORRY!

Why yes, this is a more crackish novel. Def won't be taken as seriouse.

Completly different writting style than usual.
