Chapter 04 : Upgrade
After an exhausting day of shopping, we came back. My Mother brought me an owl, it was female a Eagle Owl with dark orange eyes. I named it Artemis because she was a great hunter or the pet shop owner said so.
I was excited to check out my wand. But something came into my mind.
"System, can I use the Item upgrading token on my wand?"
[Yes, it's possible. Would you like to use that it.]
I thought about it and asked, "Is it safe?"
[Yes, host or the item will not be damaged in any way.]
I was quite worried my wand become dysfunctional. Because wands consider being sensitive artifacts.
"Fine, Use it on my wand." I said taking out my wand. A soft red glow surrounded the wand. After a few moments, the glow disappeared, revealing my newly upgraded wand. Instead of black now it has a reddish black.
"So what are the upgrades?" I asked. Then a system window appeared in front of me.

[The wand before had a strong affinity to dark arts. To balance it system added the second core. As host compatible with Hawthorn wood and unicorn hair, they were used.]
[Upgrade also unlocked one of the special abilities of the wand. As for soul bind, host is the only one who can use this wand, and even if you lost the wand, it will return.]
It became dual-core and could become more powerful. It may not strong as the Elder wand for now but In the future, it will be the strongest wand since it can grow and no one can steal it from me.
Since I already use one of the tokens I will go all the way. "Use spell token."

why...why not an offensive spell. what I am going to do with this spell. Suddenly knowledge about how to use this charm and how to spell it flowed into my brain. Well, there was no use crying over the spilled milk. I decided to check it. I throw one of the books into the air and point my wand at it.

The book started to slow down in mid-air and softly fell to the ground. Nice, It works better than I expected. Because It was received from the system I don't need to practice the spell.

It looked like to receive skills in magic fields I have to perform it at least once. This means I have to study a lot again.

A month passed after we went to Diagon ally. During the past month, Crabbe and Goyle visited me. They are good henchmen until one of them stabs your back. Of course, I am not going to just throw them away. Then who will do my dirty work?
I also become closer with my mother and it has nothing to do with staying out for the first time. And a lot of studies like really lot.
At least now I have a somewhat understanding of magic. Not about magic itself but how it works.
Magic is a mystic force that allows bend reality at will. Wizards don't have to store magic in their body like core or something. In theory, magic is an unlimited force that exists everywhere and wizards are controlling it. They are more like a gateway. Spells and Wand act as tuners and amplifiers to magic. Even though magic is unlimited it cause mental energy so still using powerful magic for a long time can exhaust a wizard.
After all the studies and trying spells my status changed quite a bit.

For me Transfiguration was a little hard as for dark arts, most of the offensive spells like Jinxes, Hexes and curses belong to dark arts because of that it was hard to rank up. Talking about dark arts, my ancestor's book was quite vivid. He had very creative ideas about how to kill people and torture people.
However, those spells are very advanced for my level. There were a few spells I am interested in. I will have to try them later.
I decided to use the skill upgrading token on Transfiguration and take dark arts slowly since it's more versatile.

A wave of knowledge flowed into my brain and I understood how to do a minor transfiguration correctly.
I took a shirt button and use my magic on it. As I imagined my magic covering it like a cloud of smoke touching every part of the button even traveling inside, transforming into a stone pebble. It mainly depends on focus, imagination, and control of the magic flow.
The button started to change its shape and texture becoming rough and hard. In a moment button turned into a stone pebble.
I was happy with the results.

Then I heard a knock on the door of my room.
