Cass walked to the dining room and took a seat. Miles was the only one with him now, and it felt boring. He couldn't wait for the finale, to finally put an end to being followed by cameras everywhere.

He ate in silence, and Miles looked at Cass, smiling.

"Can you believe we made it to the finale?" Miles said.

Cass looked up and smiled in response. "I can't. The fact that I was selected and managed to make it out of that house to participate is incredible enough."

In the original timeline, Cass had been literally captive in that house. He had to sneak out in the middle of the night since Viola would have never agreed.

"Even if you hadn't, I would have found a way to make sure you participate," Miles said.

Cass believed him, but only because he knew Miles wanted to use him to show off that he was friends with an orphan and appear humble.

Miles used Cass and then discarded him when he became popular. And if that wasn't bad enough, he scarred Cass's face.
