Chapter 16

Jeremiah flexed the cord in his hand a couple of times before preparing to use it like a spear, like he had at the nexus. He aimed at Spider, who was barely holding himself up and running away with his vampiric agility did not seem to be an option. As Jeremiah began to wind up the attack and launch it forward, Spider twisted his sword in the ground and a burst of blinding energy cascaded out of it and throughout the room with a resounding thunderclap trailing off into a high-pitched sound.

Jeremiah’s cord missed the mark entirely as he closed his eyes and reeled back from the disorienting spell, Sara desperately had her hands up covering her eyes as she turned away, while Nymia was covering her ears as this turned her vampiric hearing into an absolute nightmare.
