Chapter 43

Within twenty minutes of leaving the classroom, Ryuu was back at the Academy. Ten minutes later, Ryuu was in the headmaster’s office. He was pacing the rug in front of Mr. King’s fireplace, growling.

The two other men in the room watched him quietly. They both had expressionless masks. One held a whiskey glass that held aged Scottish whiskey and the other held an unlit cigar.

Mr. King held the cigar.

Ryuu’s father held the whiskey.

Everyone who saw Ryuu and his father, Ormr, immediately knew what they were to one another. Ormr may have a more Asian look from his ancestors than Ryuu, as his eyes were upturned more and were almond shaped. Ryuu’s eyes were rounder and his jaw was more square than his father’s. Everything else was a match. Especially the white hair, though Ormr’s was almost silver in appearance now and he wore it longer. Like now, it was in a braid that ended right under his shoulder blades.
