Ridiculous Idea

Elena was trotting happily to meet Gemma when she saw Bernal coming out from his own quarters of the house with a girl hanging on his arm, who wore a very ridiculous dress and was laughing at whatever silly thing he said to her, Elena was sure Bernal didn't say anything funny.

She felt her heart being shattered into a thousand pieces when he whispered something in her ear, and the foolish girl giggled. Her eyes burned with punished tears. Not being able to take it anymore, she decided to turn and go back home, but she bumped into something hard.

A pair of strong hands held her by her arms preventing her from falling.

"I'm sorry," the familiar voice said.

She raised her head to see it was Mateo. "I'm sorry, I was the one who bumped into you," Elena replied, trying to fight back the tears that threatened to fall from her eyes. "I'm so clumsy," she mumbled.

"Are you all right?" Mateo asked when he noticed her sad countenance.
