Mauve watched Jael go with a disappointed look on her face. She could not shake off the feeling that he couldn't wait to leave her. There was also the fact that he didn't eat. She couldn't think of anything that could bother him enough to not eat but it's not like he would tell her if she asked.
She leaned against the headboard and sighed loudly. She looked toward the tray, less than a quarter of its content was eaten. Mill would not be pleased.
Mauve sighed again, she suddenly felt very tired. After all that, it was expected that her body would feel weak. Her shoulders felt numb and heavy. She wondered how long it would take to heal up.
She hoped it wouldn't take too long as she couldn't wait to go back home and being stuck in this room almost all day was starting to drive her nuts.
She carefully slipped under the sheets, mindful of her injured arm. She placed her head on the pillow and closed her eyes. Her soft knock caused her eyes to fly open.
