Her expression darkened as she saw him, even though she knew he was coming it still didn't make it easier to see him. He couldn't look her in the eye as he stood with the tub outside the door.

Vae made way for Mack to go into the room. He passed her without any eye contact and placed the tub on the ground. He still kept his head low but he wasn't leaving the room.

Vae raised a brow but didn't say anything, she just stared. The last time he had gotten provoked because she spoke back, she really wasn't interested in shenanigans. If her peace of mind meant she wouldn't say a word to him even if it meant listening to his horse crap, she could easily do it.

Last night had ended without incident as she had expected but she knew better than to step on the tail of a rattlesnake. She knew her place, nobody knew that better than she did.
