Fairy 28.2:  Meredy III

"Are you all okay, big brother?" Meredy asked, showing her concern.

"I am fine, it just… When I stroke your hair, it reminds me of someone, who was like a little sister to me." Zack told.

"Meredy understands… Meredy had lost both mother and father… her friends… everyone Meredy ever known. But Ultear saved me… which is why Meredy will do anything to stop her suffering. No matter what that is." Meredy said with a warm smile on her face. Showing how much she loves Ultear.

"Ooh I see, making me curious who this Ultear person is. I like to meet her one day." Zack went.

"Meredy too! But Ultear is away on a mission… leaving Meredy here alone. But big brother is here, so Meredy is not alone now." When Meredy said that with a smile, Zack looks at her smile with a bitter smile, and was about to say something. However, Nightfall stopped Zack from saying anything, by saying something first.

'Again, with this lolicon thing… just want is a lolicon? And what does this sword mean by fallen for me? Don't tell me she fallen over again?' Zack thought, as he looked at her knees. But soon sees nothing wrong with them, as he sighed seeing nothing wrong.

It wasn't long for Zack to stop stroking Meredy's hair, which alarmed the little girl, that was enjoying her hair being touched, and the feeling she once had. When her father used to stroke her head. As she turned to face Zack who show a bitter expression on his face.

"Something the matter, big brother?" Meredy may be a 11 year old child, but for a child that has been through a lot of things. There no way she wouldn't tell something isn't wrong, with Zack's current expression.

"Meredy… I have something to tell you." Zack said, still maintaining his bitter smile.

"Something wrong big brother…?" Meredy asked.

"Well, you see Meredy. I kinda destroyed the last place around here, that I can train my magic with. So… I need a new training ground. Because of that, and because I don't want to get others involved with my magic and its range. I need to search for a new training ground… that's why after this, I be going deeper into the forest."

When Meredy heard this, she knew sometimes she can feel the earth shake a little. And knew it must be Zack's doing. Of course, she has no idea the state of the training ground in question, but since she can sometimes feel the shakes from here. No doubt it must be destroyed.

However, when Meredy heard Zack said all that. She blankly looked at Zack, before tears begin to flow out of Meredy's pink eyes. And was about to reach her hands towards him. But Meredy soon stopped herself, and even lower her head.

She might be a 11-year-old girl. But she is no fool, and as a Dark Wizard, she knew she cannot show such emotions in front of others, especially in front of other Dark Wizards. That is why Meredy just bitten her lips, and lower her head, and tried her hardest to held back her emotions from showing any further.

"W-Will… M-Meredy ever see big brother again?" Meredy went, not looking into Zack's eyes, who notice this. But did nothing knowing this girl before him is trying to hold her feelings back. It is a lie to say, that Meredy didn't grow attached to Zack over the two weeks.

That's how lonely this 11 years old girl is. Besides Ultear, she truly has no one else, especially since she is a Dark Wizard in a powerful Dark Guild, Grimoire Heart, who will devour her whole, if she made one wrong move.

"Why not? I also want to see you again one day, that's why Meredy, if fate wants us to meet again. Let's meet again in the future, I be looking forward of your progress, that's why, let's meet again once you become a proper wizard, agree?" Zack told with his gentle smile.

"Really? Pinkie promise?" Meredy askes with a warm smile and hold her hand out towards Zack. Who looked at her hand with a sense of guilt when he saw it. But needlessly to say. Zack still shows his gentle smile, like brother that shows his little sister. And held her little finger with his own.

"I promise, that I, Zack Smasher and Meredy will meet again in the future. That's why, Meredy, until that day comes, make sure you grow strong and healthy." Zack said, and instead of stroking her pink hair, like he always does. Zack hugged Meredy and brought her close to her.

Which in turn, Meredy who only has her parents and Ultear hugged her before, was shocked before, but soon closed her eyes, and enjoy Zack's hug, even if she knew this might be the last time she will see Zack.

It was clear to this olden sword, that Meredy was questioning Zack at the beginning, and did a poorly job at that.

'Master, a girl at her age, wouldn't be interested in your guild unless. One, she has nowhere to go, two, her guild has asked her to do so. Or three, she wanted to flee from her own guild, and move into yours… Fairy Tail, was it? Anyway, I think it's the second choice to be honest. This girl, Meredy thinks too highly of this Ultear woman, to the point, I doubt she will leave her guild without her.

That means, this Ultear or whatever her name is. Properly ordered Meredy to dig out information out of you. That's why it will be wise to keep your guard up, Master. Don't think of hiding who you are, as cowardly, sometimes we hide to protect the ones we hold dear.

And another thing, Master. Since we have no clue what her guild is, or that woman is like. It might be for the best, to tell false lies to Meredy, we don't know if she will be hurt by this Ultear or whatever she is called. Or hurt by her guild. Well, that is my experience with my former masters.

And if you stuck what to tell her. Say our contract, that tattoo is a guild mark belonging to a guild known as Chaos Ruler, you know, my real name, Chaos Ruler, the Sword of Chaos itself, now repeat after me Master, Chaos Ruler…' As expected from an ancient sword with an ego.

Because of that. It was easy to tell Meredy was ordered by someone to get information from Zack. As Zack himself, agreed with Nightfall. And begin to give Meredy false information.

However, it was neither of these things, since Zack has no sexually interest in Meredy and came to like this little girl known as Meredy, who is a very lonely girl, that has been chasing after someone's back, ever since she has been left all alone.

Zack wanted to be here for her. But he cannot, he cannot go back to his old self, he needed to become stronger, and stronger Zack become. Less the chance for him to lose someone else yet again.

That is why, these two weeks that Zack has spent with Meredy, he will never forget them, and knew if he were to meet again in the future, there one more person he will held dear to him, and promise to protect that person as much as the others, he held dear to his heart as well.
