First Date Pt. 1

Zara's Point of View

Aláine and I sat in her bedroom while she went through her wardrobe. Yay! My BFF was going on a date tonight, and I was absolutely thrilled for her.

Aláine didn't go out much and didn't date anyone after the issues with her ex-boyfriend, Marc. She often turned guys down that I wouldn't have.

Well, at least until I met Noah. Marc was an arsehole because she wouldn't sleep with him. Now she was going out with this gorgeous-looking guy, who was a werewolf.

"I'm dating a werewolf," Aláine said incredulously. "I'm going on a date. Seriously, what the fuck am I doing?"

"You will be fine," I replied. "Werewolf or not, Kristof seems like a nice guy. I know Noah is, so I am sure he is too."

"But I don't date!" she exclaimed.

"Hold on, are you nervous because he is a werewolf or because you are going on a date?" I asked.

"Yes!" she said nervously.

At this point, I was trying not to laugh at her. She really needed to get out more and realise that not every guy was like Marc. He really did a number on her.

"So, what are you going to ask him tonight?" I asked to distract her a little.

"Ummm. Well... I obviously want to know about werewolves and how you become one. Also, how does he know that I am his mate? I need to know what I am getting myself into." Aláine replied thoughtfully.

"Well then, no need to be worried. You can always say no. You are good at that," I said, laughing.

"Yeah, I know," she answered with a smile.

Good. She is relaxing. I genuinely want this to work out for her. Aláine needs a break, what with her parents dying and her cousin taking off, then Marc. Not only that, but she needs to lose her V-card. Badly.

"What the hell am I going to wear?" Aláine asked with a panic in her voice.

"Dum, dum, da! Zara to the rescue! I've got just the thing for you," I replied, going to my room.

I went to my closet and found this darling little black number.

"Put this on," I commanded her.

The dress was perfect. It came halfway down Aláine's thighs, showing off her long slim legs. It had spaghetti straps over her shoulders, so no bra, and similar straps across her back.

"Damn, you look good!" I exclaimed.

She looked at herself in the mirror from the front and side views.

"Here I go again," she said, "dressing in clothes that are really out of my comfort zone and showing too much leg and chest."

Aláine tried to pull the hem down a little lower. Looking at me, she suggested that she should wear her usual jeans to turn him off of her.

"Don't you dare!" I scolded and proceeded to lecture her that every girl should have a little black dress.

It was good that I was her best friend because she looked better in my clothes than I did. I found it hard to be jealous of her as her nature was so sweet. I even told her so.

"I love you too, girlfriend," she replied. "I'd never buy fabulous clothes like these. Thank you for letting me use your wardrobe... again."

We heard a knock on the door downstairs. Suddenly, Aláine looked like she was in a panic again.

"Chill! Sounds like dinner has arrived," I said, suggestively wiggling my eyebrows. "I shall go and answer the door. Remember, you are going to have fun tonight."

I bounced downstairs and opened the door. Kristof was standing at the door looking all sexy in his expensive suit. Everything about him was tailored, including his close-cut beard. Even though I thought he was sexy, I preferred a slightly more rugged appearance in males, like Noah.

"Come in. Aláine's just getting ready and will be down soon," I said, opening the door wider for Kristof to enter.

"Your walking candy store is here, Aláine!" I called to her.
