Just as Hermione had promised, she talked to McGonagall that thought it was perfectly acceptable to come to the castle for a couple of days during the week. Hermione would arrive during the day on Tuesdays and leave after dinner on Wednesdays. Draco was happy to finally be done with classes today because Hermione would be waiting for him in their apartment.
"Hello, dear." Draco kissed his wife on the head and then, in turn, their three babies. "How were they on the way here?"
"Wonderful, they all slept the entire time. I couldn't have managed if they had all been crying, so I am grateful."
"I am sure you would have managed brilliantly. Coming up with some way to rock all three right back to sleep on the spot."
"Draco, I should start coming up with something for that purpose. What a wonderful idea." Hermione went over to the bookshelf to pull out some books on charms, and Draco went into the kitchen to start on dinner. There was no way that Draco would allow his three small babies to be in the great hall. Far too many germs.
"What can I make you for dinner. I am becoming quite the chef."
"Whatever you feel like tonight. I will eat anything." Hermione sat down on the couch and relaxed. She missed being here, at Hogwarts. It would always be the first place that she would call home. The burrow would be second on the list, and she hoped that the Manor would slowly take over those positions. She enjoyed the grounds, and it was drastically different than during the war, and she was glad about that, but it was so big that she didn't know if it was ever going to feel like a home. She hoped that it would.
"I missed having you here, Hermione. It is so lonely here now. I never thought that I wasn't going to enjoy being alone. Now that these three little miracles are here, I hate being alone. It feels so empty without you and our three babies."
"We are going to blink, and they are going to be on their way here." Hermione let the tears fall her face as she wedged herself under Draco's arm. They stood there together looking at their little family for a while before either one spoke again.
"I hope that it goes as slowly as possible. I want to be able to take in every little detail that I can. I want to remember everything. To spoil them and take them places that they want to go to. I want to teach them everything I know and protect them from everything horrid in the world. Show them how much I love you." Draco kissed Hermione. How had the year that started so uncertain have ended in such a wonderful way?
Hermione still couldn't believe how perfect everything had turned out. She couldn't believe that she had 3 children to look after, a wonderful husband. Someone she would have never thought of marrying before this year, and a job that she always wanted waiting just for her.
After dinner, Hermione worked together to feed and bathe all 3 babies and get them to sleep. Draco couldn't believe that Hermione had been doing this all on her own.
"Draco, I see that look on your face. If you think for one minute that I was alone, you are wrong. Your mother has been amazing the She makes sure I have everything I need the entire time. I don't know what I would have done without her." Hermione kissed her husband and then put Ara down in her crib.
"I just wish I could be there the entire time to support you like I am supposed to."
"I know, baby, but what I need from you at this moment is for you to finish school. I want so badly for you to finish and to do well on your NEWTS."
"I know, I promise I will. After that, I want to spend as much time with you as I can before you start your job. I want to be a proper family.
The next morning before classes started, the young couple took their three small children and walked them around the grounds, by the Black Lake, and then down the Hagrid's hut. He was so excited to meet the three little ones. They kept saying how much they looked like 'Mione."
"Hagrid, everyone is going to know that these are Malfoy children. They look just like Draco." Hermione giggled, looking onto her babies. They really could not pass off as anyone else's children.
"Yes, but I can see you in them." Hagrid hugged Hermione tightly and gave each baby a little tiny stuffed animal. Hermione laughed at them. Scorpius had been given a little dragon, Ara a hippogriff, and Hyperion had been gifted a 3 headed dog.
"Thank you so much." Hermione was so happy that she had come to visit. She really did miss being here and thought it was unfair that she had had to leave prematurely. She didn't have a chance to come to terms with the fact that she was leaving here. This wasn't only helping Draco, but her as well.
