I walk out of the rehab facility to see Natalie and Will

"Jay had a case Voight needed all hands on deck, so Jay called me to pick you up," Will says

"Oh ok," I smile as he takes my bag from me

"You feeling better Ken?" Natalie asks as we walk back towards Will's car

"Yah, I feel like myself again," I smile

"Sharon says you can come back anyway you want," Natalie says as we get to the car

"Ok I think I might take a few days off, get comfortable back at home," I say jumping in the back seat

"Ken, you hungry?" Will asks sitting in the driver's seat I nod my head "starving, they had us all on a vegetarian diet" I say

"Ohh," Nat laughs "how was that?" She asks

"I lost those stubborn 5 pounds that took me forever to lose," I laugh

"So pizza?" Will asks

My phone rings

I pick the phone up

"Hey Kennedy I need your help," he says sighing in frustration

"Whats wrong?" I ask as Will pulls in to the pizzeria

"We'll be at the district soon, right now I am hungry so we're getting pizza want a slice?" I ask

"My god yes please I am starving," he says

"Meat lovers?" I ask and he replies with a yes before I hang up

"Was that Jay?" Will asks stopping the car, I nod my head as I get out from the back seat

"He needs my help with something on the case," I say as we walk into the small pizzeria

"Ok, so I need to drop you off at district 21 after this?" Will ask

"Yah," I say grabbing my wallet

"Hi can I get a Hawaiin and meat lovers pizza, 2 slices each," I say and the boy who looked to be only in his 20's nods his head

"Here you go miss, that will be 12.75," he says handing me 2 boxes I grab a 10 and 2 dollar bills alongside a few quarters

"Have a good day miss," he smiles putting the cash in the register and handing me my receipt

I smile and go sit down waiting for Will and Nat

After they get their pizzas we head over to the precinct

I get out and I walk in

"Hey Trudy," I smile and she looks up

"Hey Kennedy," she smiles "what do you need today?" She smiles

"Buzz me up to intelligence," I smile and she shoo's me away, I walk up and she buzzes me in

I run up the steps and see Jay and a few others sitting at their desks, I walk over to Jay's desk and drop the pizza box on his desk

"Thank you," he says sitting up and kissing my cheek

"Man we're hungry too Lil Dawson," Kevin says throwing his hands up, I laugh

"Sorry," I say as Jay brings a chair for me

"Here you go," he says and I sit down putting my pizza on my lap, I pull my oversized white cardigan up

"Thanks," I say scooting closer

"So we have this picture I need you to identify this person, he pulled facial recognition and it was under a faulty name but he went to Chicago High and graduated the same year as you," Jay says pulling out a picture

I look at it over again and again

"Oh my god," I say covering my mouth

"Alexander Greene was he the shooter?" I ask looking at Jay

"Yes,"

"I don't know what happened to him, he was the nicest guy in our class, student body president 3 years in a row, he ran the volunteer community in the school, he was our valedictorian," I say

"Did you know him well?" Kim asks

"Yah we uh went to prom together, never dated though," I say

"Listen, Kennedy, you could probably get through to him would consider calling him for us?" Adam asks I look up and nod my head

I hold my breath as they dial the number

"Here it's ringing," Olinsky says handing me the phone

I let my breath out

"Hello?"

"Hi Alex it's Kennedy Dawson," I say looking at Adam

"Kennedy?" He says

"Yes Alex it's me, I'm sorry I haven't been in touch, I've been studying to be a doctor so as my practicum I went to Africa for a few years and I was looking through my photo albums and came across our prom picture," I laugh and look at Adam

"That's amazing Kennedy," he says, his voice was shaking and I could tell he was probably hooked on something

"Ya, what have you been up to?" I ask and Adam gives a thumbs up telling me he tracked his call

"Oh uh just you know working, listen I got to go but we need to catch up," he says before hanging up on me

I hand the phone back to Olinsky and look at Jay

"You good?" He asks I look down to see my hand lightly tapping against the arm of the chair

"Uh yah I should be, please let me come I would like to talk to him," I say looking at Jay

"I don't know Kennedy," he says looking at me

"Please Jay," I say grabbing his hand

He looks over and I see Hank, he nods his head I smile and put the box down on the wooden desk

I walk down the stairs behind Jay, we get to his car and Adam gets in the passenger and I get it the back

"Here," Jay says handing me a bulletproof vest "it's just to be safe Ken," he adds as he and Adam both slip into theirs

I put mine on and buckle up, Jay turns the ignition on and they all pull out

After a bit, we arrived at the house and I see Alex leaving with a little girl in tow, she had a small light blue bunny in her tiny hands

"Alexander Greene hands up and let the little girl go!" Hank yells

"Please let us go, we need to get to safety please," he says as the little one hides behind his leg

I hear tires screech and I look over my shoulder to see 4 black trucks speeding around the corner

I see a gun peek through the window and soon after all 4 trucks come to a stop and a bunch of guys exit all with guns

"Its too late," he says pushing the little girl behind him

"You owes us, Alex," one of the guys say pointing towards Alex with the gun

"Chicago PD, what seems to be the problem," Alvin asks holding up his badge

"You stay out of this ol' man," the guy says pushing Alvin

"I don't have the money please give me more time," Alex cries one hand in front of him and another on the little girl's arm

"Too late, we gave you 2 more weeks now, give us the money or you one dead motherfucker,"

"I don't," he says and they start shooting

I feel a pain go through my shoulder, I look over to see Alex on the ground and the little girl crying and the guys jumping in their cars driving away

I feel the pain again, I look down to see blood dripping down my shoulder onto my white shirt

"Jay!" I shout, he looks over and sees the blood

"Kennedy!" He shouts racing over before I pass out
