I leave Kennedy's place and head back to the station

I walk in to see Voight working on the board studying everything we had on the case so far

"Kennedy said she'd update us on the patients as soon as she gets to work," I say going to my desk and sitting behind the wooden table and opening the file

"She works today?" Voight asks looking at me

"Ya uh 2 o'clock," I say jotting some notes down

"Ok," he says looking at me

"Is there something wrong, last I remember you told me to ask her out why you acting like this?" I say standing up

"I'm not acting like anything," he says raising his voice at me and walking towards me clenching the pen in his hand

"Just treat her right Jay," he says getting in my face

"You two good?" I hear Alvin's voice echo throughout the room

"Ya," I say sitting back down at my desk watching Voight walk into his office and slamming his door

"Jay what did you say?" Alvin asks walking up to my desk

"Nothing he looked at me a god damn ignorant way after I told him Kennedy's schedule so I asked what was wrong he just got in my face," I say slamming my hand on my desk pointing towards his office

My phone rings

I hit the green answer button lightly with the pads of my thumb and walk into the break room

"Hey Ken," I say putting the phone up to my ear

"Hey Jay" I hear her delicate voice ring in my ears, I look out to see Al and Adam talking

"Um, Jay I have some bad news, we lost 8 patients, all had major injuries, Dr. Rhodes and every trauma doctor did everything they could but some injuries were more severe than we thought," she says

"The names and age please?" I asked walking back to my desk grabbing a piece of paper and a pen

"Katie Miller age 19, Andrew Sanders age 27, Paul Matthews age 50, Jesus Alvarez age 19, Catherine McGuire age 23, Andre Guerro age 13, Shane O'Brien age 67 and Olivia Guerro age 29," she says and I walk over to the board and find each person picture, I place the phone between my shoulder and ear and writing on the board

"How about the other patients that were brought in?"

"A few are critical and in ICU, some are responsive but not awake yet I'll be sure to keep you updated," she says "I got to go another trauma just came in," she says hanging up

"Man that leaves 10 witnesses left" I hear Atwater say

"A few are in the ICU and rest are responsive but not awake yet Kennedy said before she hung up," I say looking at the board seeing all the pictures from the crime scene

"Hey Will Kennedy updated me already," I say sitting on the edge of my desk

"Ok well this call was absolutely useless" he laughs

"Ya" I laugh looking at Voight

"Jay, before you go Kennedy has seemed off this shift has she talked about anything with you?" Will asks

"No not to me at least maybe ask Gabi if something is up you would have to ask her or I'll talk to Antonio," I say looking up to see him walking up the stairs, I look over to see Voight looking at me like he knew what today was

"Listen we have 8 dead and 10 hanging on, we need to find out who was the intended target and the shooter," Voight says as everyone was in the room "I want everyone asking their CI's for information" he continues

"Dawson, can we talk?" I say before he walks down the steps

"Ya," he says walking towards the hallways

"I just talked to Will and he was Kennedy is a bit off at work like something was on her mind does this day mean anything to her?" I ask

He sighs looking down "ya.." He says scratching his forehead and looking up explaining what today was

I walk into the ICU to check on one of the patients from the shooting earlier today

I see all the wires and tubes, this little girl was only 6 years old and she was fighting for her life

I look down and check her vitals

I walk out logging her vitals on the iPad and checking on another

I look up to see a man around my age with bandages wrapped around his head and a tube in his mouth breathing for him

"Kennedy!" I hear a voice bring me out of my trance
