He was mad and sad. Mad at himself for not understanding her and sad that she wasn't trying for him. He knew that he was lacking as well.

Her insecurities were valid, and so was his predicament. In his defence, neither was at fault. Yet, it felt as though he was the only one who enjoyed having her around while she despised him.

His hands resolutely wrapped around her waist as he gently hoisted her up. She didn't protest this time. Natalia let the sadness wash over her.

The tears were like an outlet that allowed her emotions to flow out. She had been keeping them in for a while. Maybe she needed a push to let them out.

She couldn't help but notice, albeit gingerly, that his arms wrapped around her frame felt like home. She buried her face in his neck as she let him carry her bridal style.

She didn't care to know where he was taking her. She only felt relieved to know that he was by her side. Her emotions were a mess, and she knew it.
