That would have been a threatening scene... if it was actually threatening. I love the story, truly I do, but the description of the enemy is just as important as the description of the protagonist. I know it's supposed to be mysterious and there's probably a big reveal later but because the swarm was not properly described to us, it might as well be the enemy from "The Happening". I really hope you'd consider small edits, even if it's just the generalized idea of what types of creatures are within the swarm or what gender the swarm leader is assuming.
