Alex saw Sophie in the cafeteria and went to her. He saw the magazine in her hand when she raised her head. Alex waved at her and said hello to her.
"What is Miss Lin doing here?" Alex asked and again looked at the magazine. "Is Miss Lin reading Junwei's interview?" He inquired.
Sophie instantly closed the magazine and put that on the glass surface of the table. "I was bored. Yu Junwei asked me to keep waiting for him until noon. Junwei thinks he is the only one who is busy in this world!" Sophie muttered.
Alex hummed and sat down on the chair next to her. "It is so strange of Junwei. He hardly acted like this before," he said.
Sophie chuckled and said, "He loves to trouble me. He also troubles his employees." She looked around and found out that the working people in the company would look at her, but would not try to come near her.
She had not forgotten how Junwei fired the manager that day. She was still guilty of that. Because of her, the security guards lost their jobs. Though, she had asked Ciao to give them jobs in her agency.
"Aren't you scared of him?" Sophie asked.
"I am, but we are close friends. He can take out as much anger as he can, but he will not abandon me," Alex said with a smile.
"That's a relief to hear. I thought if he found another employee speaking to me, he might fire him," Sophie said.
"Now, that's not going to happen. Miss Lin has gotten close to Junwei's family. He may not fire his employees. And even if he fires me, Grandpa will send me back," Alex asserted.
The female cafe worker came to Alex and handed him the coffee that he had ordered.
"Thank you," Alex said and took the coffee cup from her. He looked at Sophie, who sipped the coffee from her coffee cup.
"I saw Miss Lin read Junwei's interview, particularly about his personal dating life," Alex said.
"Ahh, yes," Sophie put the coffee cup on the table, "I was curious to know."
"Junwei is a reserved type of person. He doesn't like when someone tries to come near the barrier that he has made around him," Alex affirmed.
Sophie's doubts that Junwei had a terrible breakup with his girlfriend got stronger. That was the reason why he said he would prefer to stay single for a prolonged period.
"I suppose Miss Lin is interested in Junwei," Alex said in an extremely low voice.
"No," Sophie immediately refused. She could not let any rumor spread because Junwei would kick her out of the project if it happened.
Alex got puzzled to hear that response. He thought that Sophie had feelings for Junwei. Suddenly, Sophie's phone rang and she looked at the screen. It was her manager's call. She answered it and then in a minute hung up the call.
"I need to go. It was nice talking to you," Sophie said and stood up. She threw the coffee cup in the bin and left for the boardroom where she was supposed to be present.
~~~~~~~~
Junwei looked at the simulation on the board and then at the report in his hand. The project in charge looked at Junwei with high hopes. Junwei flipped the pages of the report and checked the efficiency that the motor would achieve.
"Great work, Mr. Li," Junwei said and put the report on the table. He then looked at the projector screen as more slides were played. Junwei liked the initial presentation idea and asked Mr. Li to start the work on the prototype stage first. The boardroom's lights turned on and Junwei appreciated the team's work.
He stood up and left the boardroom, followed by Wang Zexi. Secretary Wang informed Junwei about the interview that was scheduled after two days.
"Interview?" Junwei asked and frowned.
"Yes, Sir. It is—" Wang Zexi paused as Junwei showed him the hand.
They were on the glass walkway of the fifth floor. Junwei had his eyes down on the fourth floor, where Sophie was surrounded by a few of his company's employees. Wang Zexi also gazed down and then at Junwei.
Sophie was signing autographs for her fans while smiling brightly. She raised her head for a moment and saw Junwei glaring at her. She pretended as if she did not see him. Junwei walked ahead while Wang Zexi ran after his boss.
Wang Zexi pressed the button on the elevator and the doors got closed.
"Miss Lin is quite friendly with the people around her. Also, she is a celebrity so it gets difficult for people not to interact with her," Wang Zexi said. He wanted to calm down Junwei's anger, who still remained quiet.
"Tell her manager that the meeting is preponed," Junwei asserted and pressed another button on the elevator.
"Yes, Sir." Wang Zexi took out the phone and informed the same to Ciao Hong.
"She is really a nuisance to me," Junwei murmured, which Wang Zexi heard.
"Sir, our stock prices have risen after it was revealed that Miss Lin would be the model for the new electric vehicle," Wang Zexi said.
"Do I care about that? It could have risen on its own even if Sophie was not a part of this project. Because Grandpa wanted her to be the model, that is why I have to bear such a nuisance," Junwei muttered. They stepped out of the elevator and headed to the boardroom, where he would tell Sophie's team what they needed to do.
Wang Zexi pushed the door for Junwei and he stepped in. Ciao Hong and the other team members stood up in Junwei's respect. Junwei took a seat and asked about Sophie.
"Did I not tell everyone to stay here until noon? Why is Miss Lin not here?" Junwei angrily asked.
"Sorry, Mr. Yu. Sophie will soon be here. She had gone to the washroom," Ciao said while keeping his head low in embarrassment.
"I am here!" Sophie pushed the door in and panted for the air. She quickly walked in and apologized to Junwei.
"You went to the washroom on the fourth floor?!" Junwei arched his eyebrow. Sophie pursed her lips together and fiddled with her fingers.
Apologies for taking so long for the updates. I will be more regular from now onward.
