Broke up with me [Bonus chapter]

Sophie reached her home and freshened up first. She put on the face sheet mask on her face and lay down on the couch for some time. She scrolled through the social media feed and found out the official news that Sunshine Technologies had put in about the new car model.

"The launch is after two weeks. Why he had not told me about this?" She murmured when her phone rang. It was Zheng Daniel. She answered his call.

"Secretary Wang has shared the details regarding your shoot. I have shared the details with Ciao. Be ready by eight in the morning as we have to reach to see Yu Junwei by sharp nine in the morning. Secretary Wang has told that these days his boss is not in a good mood, so let's not make him angry," Daniel explained to Sophie. "Basically, I called you personally because I do not want to ruin things from here onwards," he stated.

"Don't worry. I will not give him any chance to complain to Chairman Zheng," she assured him.

"How was your shoot today?" Daniel asked.

"It was good," Sophie replied.

"The scandal is slowly fading from the news. Probably, you will get a new drama soon," he informed her. Sophie hummed. Though she wanted to take a rest for at least a month, because of the scandal her reputation was not good among the industry people, so decided to comply with Daniel's order. When the phone disconnected, she put it away and closed her eyes for a while.

"Jun did not even respond to my apology. I sent him his favorite flowers. How could he become so insensitive? Was he always like this? He used to be so good to me," Sophie murmured and shot her eyes open. Ten years ago, when she met Junwei in the hospital, where he helped her once, she could not help but build a crush on him. He was the first man in her life after her father, who cared for her.

A smile crept on her lips as she recalled those days. That time, she could not see him, but she was definite about that voice, name, and most importantly, the touch of Junwei. He used to be a humble man.

She looked at her phone and then, at Junwei's number. She wondered if she should call him or not. Fighting with her thoughts, she finally dialed that number although Junwei had blocked her. However, there was still hope in her that he would have unblocked her. She was wrong. He had her number blocked.

"Why did you change so much?" Sophie murmured.

She lowered her hand when her phone rang. She looked at it and found Yusheng had called her. She answered it and told him she had urgent work, so she would not come to see him in the cafe.

"I am outside your apartment. Open the door for me," Yusheng said.

"What?" Sophie exclaimed in shock and sat up. She disconnected the call, removed the face mask, and went to open the door. Yusheng stepped in and closed the door behind him.

"Why are you here? What if someone has seen you?" Sophie asked.

"No one has seen me," Yusheng said and removed the black cap and black mask. "Sorry, I have to come to your place this way," he said.

Sophie asked him to follow her and they both went to the living room. She went to the kitchen and brought water for him. She sat across him, keeping her one leg above the other, and crossed her arms. Yusheng thanked her for the water and put the glass down on the table.

"Why did you want to see me?" Sophie asked.

"To apologize," Yusheng said. "My mother was sick at that time and you also know that I took a break from my profession," he asserted.

Sophie chuckled. "Yusheng, you did not have to come here to see me for this reason. You could have told me this on the phone," she stated.

"That would have been different then. I want my apology to be sincere," Yusheng said.

"Yusheng, you broke up with me on the phone. I know that your mother passed away in an unfortunate incident. I was well aware of your situation at that time. You never picked up my call and after almost six months, you appeared again. Fine. For your mother, I will forgive you." Sophie did not want to drag her matter with him anymore. "You should leave as my manager will soon be here," she stated.

Yusheng did not stand up from the couch when Sophie gave him a questionable look.

"Can we not get back together?" Yusheng asked her. "I have missed you in this time period too. I was not in my right mind when I broke up with you. It was not intentional. I wanted to call you, but you had blocked my number and I did not get dare to call you with my other number until a few hours ago," Yusheng explained his situation to her.

"You are such a jerk!" Sophie muttered. "Leave before I will kick you out," Sophie said.

Yusheng had a pleading look in his eyes. He again opened his mouth to speak when Sophie showed him her hand, thus gesturing him to stop. "I am not into you anymore. So, leave. I wish for your great future ahead," she said with a wide smile which was indeed a taunt for him.

The doorbell rang, and Sophie knew it was Ciao at the door. She went to open the door while Yusheng walked behind her. As the door opened, Ciao got shocked to see Yusheng in Sophie's apartment when Sophie told him that she would explain it to him later.

Yusheng thanked Sophie for giving her time and listening to her. He put on his cap and mask before leaving. Ciao looked behind and then at Sophie.

"He has gotten no shame," Ciao remarked, and Sophie ended up smiling to hear that. He closed the door and they both went inside.
