Epilogue of the volume 3

The eagle cried out as it flew over the vast land of the southern continent. The continent was covered with either grass or sand despite being the land of the Gods. Its sharp eyes fell on a few silhouettes that were traveling on their feet while carrying the carriage.

Neigh*

The horse shook its head while going forward. Unlike western continent horses, they were either short or tall due to their environmental effects. These horses had more power and stamina than any other normal horses in the world. Their iron hoofs were highly valued all over the world, sometimes even catching up to magic beast price.

" How long do we have to go?"

Qattara said, looking to the vast steppe before her. Fortunately, she already went through the hot sun of the desert, but steppe wasn't that good either. They always had to face monsters and the travel was quite boring.

Muhammad raised his scarf to hide his face because he had another scar around his eyes.

" Maybe around 2 or 3 days. It isn't far away from our current location. Besides, we need to deliver goods, not battle the hounds which are chasing us."

He said while looking back to her. He was smiling gently because he was in a good mood. Kusha, Cain and Adj'o were riding their horses next to him. They were messing around with each other even they were injured.

Jasmine shook her head with distress since she had to deal with their problems and step up sometimes. She cleaned her guns while looking at Qattara.

" Girl, you don't know how lucky you are. If it wasn't us, you would be pile of meat with gorgeous ornaments around. The desert vultures would happily eat your remaining."

She said, mimicking the face of the vulture. Her beautiful face was flawless except for the eyepatch and prosthetic arm. She had lost quite few things in this battle.

" I know and I am grateful to you, but where is that boy? Have you heard of him?"

Qattara asked, recalling the face of the boy who saved her. He was outrageously strong and handsome. Most importantly he could harness the power of the fallen which was unheard.

Muhammad sighed while looking at her because he had met Cross before. He remembered that he was an outlaw that belonged to nowhere and it seemed that he was looking for something.

" Our path will cross with him someday. He is an unique individual after all and he is quite famous among the mercenary circle since he is one of the deadliest assassin in the continent."

Kusha said, showing a serious expression. His words had hinge of the truth as the fate geared towards it.

Meanwhile in the valley of the shadows, Cross was meeting his comrades. He looked at the man with a mask with a complicated expression.

" I couldn't complete the mission due the emergence of the fallen."

He said while drooping his head down. He knelt the ground to show his apologies.

The man sighed at him as he walked towards the window. He raised his hand and give the message to the eagle that was sitting on the cliff.

" You have caused quite scene. I could deal with Iron Sand and the new girl, but the old man is quite stubborn. He would try to use this incident to his favor since we failed our mission."

The man said, sitting on the chair. His light armor made a squeaking sound as they hit the leg of the table.

" I didn't expect they would be there either. I won't fail again."

Cross said, hitting his chest with confidence. His black eyes were firm as he gazed at him.

The man smirked at his determination because he liked his student's humor and behavior at the same time.

" Don't take it too hard. Go clean your mind while going to your home. Those friends of yours were quite interesting children. Not great as you, but quite talented. Especially that girl had enormous amount of divine energy."

The man spoke, giving the plate toward him. Although he was a merciless assassin, he favored the peace over the blood. Therefore, he only took missions that could help the peace of the continent.

" Ah, I understand. Thank you, master."

Cross said while scratching his head.

" Just eat your dinner."

The man said, showing his rare gentleness.
