Chapter 48 - The Kitchen Again.

Shawn opened his eyes before releasing a yawn as his arms stretched.

He felt his dry throat and had the urge to drink water.

"I'm glad, I just finished a quest and earned 2,000 CP for it" he said as he rose from his bed feeling energetic while also staring at the window.

"Its nearly dark," he thought.

The sound of the door to the house closing drew his attention as he ran.

"It's Lucas turn to cook" he thought as he opened his door room.

Emily was just coming home to see her kids and as usual, they didn't delay in appearing from their rooms to welcome her.

"How was school today?" She asked.

"Fine!" They chorused.

"It seems work day was also good" Shawn said while covering his mouth to yawn.

"Yes of course and why are you still in your uniform?" She replied.

Shawn's eyes widened as he realized that he hadn't changed.

"Anyways, it's your turns to cook dinner" Emily said before carrying Stacy who was hugging her legs.

Shawn and Lucas immediately made their way to the kitchen and placed their utensils on the slab.

Lucas went to the refrigerator and brought out carrots and butter.

"You do the chopping, I'll do the gathering" Shawn said.

Lucas dropped the carrots onto the chopping board for some time before getting a knife and chopping.

"I'll do the chopping" he said.

"Don't chop your fingers, we know what happened last time" Shawn reminded him.

Lucas gave him a glare before turning to face the knife, the board and the carrots.

Shawn opened the cupboard below him and brought out a can of oil as well as the pot which he rinsed before placing it on the heater.

"Pour butter then oil" he told himself as he opened the can of butter and dumped four tablespoons into the pot.

"Time to wait" he told himself as he checked on Lucas.

"Thank goodness that he hasn't cut his finger" he heaved a sigh.

A few minutes later, his brother was done with the carrots and moved it into a bowl before facing the onions.

"Ahh, thank goodness. Its sizzling" Shawn remarked on the butter that was warming up.

"I do not want to see tears" he told himself as he opened that oil can and poured three tablespoons into the pot.

He reduced the heat and went to Lucas's side before taking a knife and getting the celery to chop on another board.

With double the work force, the duo were done and moved the onions and celery to a plate.

At that moment, the butter had already melted completely before a plate of onions was poured into it.

"I'm stirring" Lucas said as he took the huge spoon and held the handle of the pot while stirring with the speed of the wind.

"Jeez" Shawn could feel the force of the stir.

For five minutes, Lucas would stir while Shawn would grate the garlic into a third plate before pouring it in.

"Thyme" he said before pouring the dark green leaves into the fray and finally the carrots after a while of waiting.

Shawn went to take another container on the slab. "Here comes the broth" he said as he poured a pale yellow liquid into the pot and Lucas stirred once again.

"Next time, we'll make the broth" he said as he added water.

"Now to leave it for a nice warming"

"And finally some blending" Lucas completed his sentence as he closed the pot and raised the heat a little.

He then flashed a smile at Shawn "Don't forget that you are to give me your laptop"

Shawn's eyes narrowed and then coughed "I thought you were crying"

"Nah, besides I'm using my internet for it" Lucas said.

"Here comes his independence again" Shawn facepalmed.

"Anyways alright" he said before folding his arms.

"Twenty minutes to wait"

"Exactly"

"We could do something else"

"What's the name of the game you wanna play?" Shawn asked.

"Oh it's nothing much an RPG game called Dawn of Assassins"

"Sheeesh. You wanna play a game of cut throats?"

The duo continued talking until Lucas noted that the time was up.

"Get the blender ready" Shawn instructed as he got to the pot and removed the cover from the top allowing a wide range of steam to flow out.

"We must enjoy what we made" he said as he took in the fresh scent of their handiwork.

"Time to make this meal into finesse" he turned to Lucas had washed the blender and they both waited for the liquid to cool before pouring it in small quantities and blending it.

After each blending, they would then pour it into a plate to hold it.

At that point, they heard the door of the house opened again.

"Obviously dad!" They chorused before continuing on.

"Ooh, my kids are cooking, that's nice" Nick said as he appeared with a suit on his arm and still in corporate wear.

"My handsome darling's around" Emily said before she appeared behind him and took his suit.

"How was your day hon?" Nick said before kneeling in for a kiss which Emily granted him access to.

"Do you want to burn our eyes!"

"Ewww!"

Shawn and Lucas closed their eyes unable to withstand the torturous scene.

"Let's leave the kids to cook. Their eyes are hurting" Emily grabbed him arm and left as the two let out laughs.

"I'm traumatized" Lucas cried out.

"Let's finish this then we can wash our eyes" Shawn said as they poured another portion of the soup into the blender.

In the dining room, the whole family stared at the bowls filled with the smooth meal of orangish-yellow soup laying right in front of them.

"I trust that you didn't cook poison?" Emily said as she took her spoon and tasted the soup.

Her eyes squinted as she said "Needs more work"

She then took her spoon and dipped it into the soup.

"Let me try" Nick said as he took his own spoon and tasted the soup.

Shawn and Lucas were still in their aprons watching the duo act like taste testers while holding their laughs hidden.

"Nice, good job" Nick remarked.

He then narrowed his eyes at Emily "Honey, try not to let my boys become broken. Its a remarkable meal" he said.

Emily who had just taken her fourth spoon of soup and replied "No its not. I'm just tasting it because its manageable"

"Nobody can beat me in the kitchen yet" She added.

The boys removed their aprons and joined in tasting their delicacy.

"So how was school day?" Nick asked the usual question.

"It was fine," Shawn replied.

"Lucas, Stacy your replies?"

"Good" Lucas answered.

"Nice as always daddy?" said Stacy.

"That's good to hear" Nick smiled before putting the next spoon of soup in his mouth.

The Family had a lovely meal before they all dropped their plates.

"So we're both washing the dishes?" Lucas said.

"Of course" Shawn replied before whispering.

"And you can come straight to my room and take my laptop"

The dishes were washed and the duo left to Shawn's room.

"Here you go," Shawn said as he gave his laptop inside a bag.

"Thanks bro," Lucas smiled.

"You sure that you don't need the internet?"

"Nah, I'm good" Lucas replied.

Shawn rolled his eyes as his younger brother left before he closed the door and locked it.

"Well, now that I'm revitalized. I'm sure that I can take six hours of the system's evilness" he thought as he laid on his bed and closed his eyes.

"Plus, its still nine so two hours of extra rest is good" he told himself as he slept off.

[Logging creator into the world]

"So this is how it is uhnn?" he said.

"Let's give Yorn an energy" he told himself as he touched the tab and clicked on world which switched to Yorn.

The world of Yorn had it's info displayed in front of him.

After a while, he smiled "Now, show me what has happened in the world. I want to see the effect of my laws" he then sat on the couch and watched the tab turned into a screen.

In the north eastern continent, two creatures with a pair of white horns and cooper like skin scaled through the steep slope of a mountain.

Not just any mountain but a volcanic one.

"Come on Drache, we have to hurry" One of them said as he gripped his nails onto the rock.

"What are we looking for here Aramgan?' Drache responded while climbing.

"The energy emanating from this volcanic hill is enough to level us up drastically and the stronger we are, the higher our ranking in the tribe"
