This is basically what I summarised from the other comments that I myself agree with. He honestly should get a pet, preferably a bird, more specifically either an owl, raven or eagle. Second of all he could buy gifts/trinkets for the golden trio for a late Christmas gift and if he want he should buy a wand holster.
