Infinite Tower (2)

The city was nothing like Sky City.

Buildings were all around in different shapes and sizes, all of them extravagant. In the middle of the city stood the infinite Tower. It would make sense however that this was the richest city in the first world.

'Alright, I'll buy a spare sword, find an inn and a restaurant, and challenge the tower tomorrow.' Keeping that in mind, Yulong asked for directions to a good weapon shop. Perhaps even a good blacksmith to get a custom-made weapon, as his frost blade wasn't all that good for him.

Around the city, some players who had spawned near here were trying to woo the female NPCs but were pushed out of the way by nobles that were much stronger than them.

Ignoring all of this, Yulong entered a weapon shop.

"Are you scamming me for this piece of shit?"

"..I-I'm sorry Y-Young Master Wu Liang... But that is the best sword we have...!"

Yulong sighed. In the front of the store, an arrogant young man and a guard nearby were arguing with the poor receptionist.

Yulong turned away to find a nice spare sword when he came across a nice one.

<Silver Anguish>

<Mysterious - Middle>

<A high-quality silver blade popular amongst sects for training.>

|40 Yang|

'A tad bit expensive, but this would be a good start to my weapon collection.' Yulong thought. Among his many titles, he was called the Weapon Master because of the thousands of weapons he had stashed around the world.

He could control each one of them to perfection, too.

When Yulong turned, the scene had escalated quite a bit. The Young Master had his sword raised, about to cut down the receptionist.

"Hmph, I could destroy this lowly shop of yours whenever I want! The Wu Family is prosperous after all!" He gloated to himself.

Yulong screamed inwardly. 'No! not my only way to get this sword!' Yulong immediately dashed as Wu Liang brought his greatsword down on the receptionist.

"Huh? Who are you nobody?" Yulong was now in front of the receptionist and caught the strike.

A bead of sweat ran down his face as he was using Qi to minimize the damage and control the blade to lessen the pressure. In his current state, he couldn't take the guard who was a Soul Gathering Cultivator lest he decides to cut Yulong down.

<Obtained the skill «Qi Touch»!>

"Young Master, perhaps you shouldn't destroy a shop in this city..."

"Shut up! You may be a Soul Gathering cultivator but don't forget you're just a lowly guard for my family! I can fire you!" Wu Liang grunted, pulling his sword back. Yulong breathed a sigh of relief. However, what came next would annoy him.

Wu Liang swung his sword horizontally, forcing Yulong to grab the receptionist and leap away.

After setting the receptionist down, Yulong turned to Wu Liang a cracked his knuckles. 'This could be a good time to steal his guard's skills. I haven't slapped a young master in a very long time...'

Suddenly, Wu Liang unleashed a flurry of attacks. Yulong noticed that the Young Master had some skill and he would've been dead by now if not for «Qi Touch» which slowed Wu Liang down.

Wu Liang gritted his teeth as his form became more and more unstable before he swung wide and broke a few podiums.

'Now's my chance!' Yulong thought, his hand glowing an ethereal yellow. He raised his palm and rushed in on Wu Liang like he was going to slap him.

It was then the guard felt chilling fear roll down his spine. 'The Young Master will die if he's hit by that!' The guard rushed to intervene. Grabbing Yulong by the wrist, he threw him up into the air.

Yulong soared to the back of the shop before slamming into a sword.

"Young Master, we must get out of here! That man... He's hiding his cultivation!" The guard said, killing any resistance Wu Liang might have had in his throat. The guard carried Wu Liang princess style and ran out of the shop.

"Damn it..." Yulong said, struggling as he got up. He surveyed the destroyed shop before sighing inwardly. That was the power of a Soul Gathering cultivator...

Suddenly, an old man burst through a door into the shop. "What happened to my- SWORDS?" He cried, directing his anger on Yulong.

To any normal True Martial, that killing intent might have them shivering, but Yulong had faced a lot stronger killing intent that this Soul Gathering cultivator could never imagine.

"You... You better pay for all this!"

Yulong groaned and fell on his back again.

...

Now near broke, Yulong couldn't afford a restaurant and had to stay at a cheap inn. He didn't even get his Silver Anguish.

Yulong lay on his dirty bed and reflected on the events of the day. Of course, he would go challenge the Infinite Tower tomorrow since he couldn't today.

'There are no monsters for miles... I need a job for more Yang.' With this, Yulong took a long-due nap.

Unbeknownst to him, he wasn't the only one who knew he was going to sleep.
