The woman looks plain while the man is just slightly handsome. But the young Qiu Shiliu and Qiu Shiwu are a dragon and phoenix pair*. So how can they have such plain-looking parents? Though even if Ke Lin is doubtful, he trusts Meng Xing's judgment.
