"Huh" Lu Yang glanced at her as if she was crazy, scoffed, then went on with what he was doing not minding her again.
"Classmate Zhao Xing wants to repent. Hah!" The one sitting, behind them who always slept in class, said, then returned to sleep.
"I'm serious!" she answered him with a serious face. Then she turned to whisper to Lu Yang.
"See, it's too dangerous, too dangerous I tell you."
Lu Yang nodded unamused, not uttering a word.
"Fine, don't believe me just watch and see."
Lu Yang just shrugged, making Zhao Xing's feet itch to kick him. She really felt the heavens must be giving her a sign, a sign that she should be more serious with her studies, if not an unknown prince from the past will come and make her his grand tutor and if she could not, he would execute her. She knows herself that she'd said the same words many times before. She and Lu Yang had been friends since her first day in high school, when they both discovered they had common interests. He was much calmer than her and was easy going, she on the other hand, ah, don't mention it, she was the complete opposite, and any punishment Lu Yang ended up getting into was mostly her fault. Either she was getting into fights, skipping class… name them all.
Her teachers wouldn't have been so tolerant towards her if she didn't have the grades she did.
Though she was stupid, she wasn't too horrible at studying. The horse wasn't dead, just sick. She could still be cured.
"Xing Xing"
Hearing that familiar voice, Zhao Xing's lips arced immediately, turning into a big smile. Then her expression changed yet again, to that of a wronged one.
"Shan Shan! Xiao Lu bullied me!" She cried throwing herself into her friends arms.
It was no secret that Lu Yang liked Xue Shan Shan the class belle, well he wasn't the only one though. The only person that didn't know in their class was Shan Shan herself, of course. She was a new transferred student that joined them early that year, and as much as Zhao Xing likes to hang around cuteness, she made friends with the new girl instantly, and declared herself Xue Shan Shan's big sister.
Having been falsely accused Lu Yang looked up with a silly expression, like he'd been stunned by something fascinating.
Xue Shan Shan's eyes left Zhao Xing, to Lu Yang's figure, looking puzzled.
"Eh? Who bullied you?" he shot up from his seat and pointed at her.
Zhao Xing glanced at him, feeling triumphant, and secretly laughed. Well there was no time to elaborate her acting skills as the teacher walked in and everyone quickly rushed to their seat.
After school Zhao Xing walked home together with her friends, and told them about her weird dream. "..I was really contemplating whether to tell you guys or not"
Having listened to her, Lu Yang tried forcing himself not to roll his eyes for the fifth time since she started. He hadn't even found her to settle accounts yet, and she dared come rambling to him about some silly dream. Xue Shan Shan on the other hand tried her best not to laugh. She coughed, and tried to speak seriously, "Xing Xing ah, maybe you're right, it must be a sign for you to get more serious. It's our final year, exams are up ahead, after our exams you'll be free as a bird and read all the manhuas you want."
Xue Shan Shan's words really touched Zhao Xing, as she stared into space. Her expression looked so silly, even Lu Yang couldn't help but smile. She really looked traumatized.
"It's fine, don't worry, I also get weird dreams at times." Lu Yang comforted.
"Really?" Zhao Xing asked. Even Shan Shan turned to look at him, making him blush a little.
"N..nevermind"
"No, tell me about it"
Lu Yang adjusted his glasses, then increased his pace, widing the distance between them because of his long legs. "No" he firmly refused.
"Hey" Zhao Xing ran after him. "Lu Yang!"
Zhao Xing was left alone as her friends had already gone home and she lived a bit farther.
As she was dragging her feet lazily she spotted and old man holding a lot of grocery bags, one of the bags accidentally fell and he struggled to pick it up. She was closest so she rushed to help him.
"Grandpa here, she picked it up and handed it over."
"Ah thank you, child." he said as he looked up at her.
"Eh? What a coincident!" he suddenly said looking surprised, making Zhao Xing puzzled.
"Grandpa?"
But he didn't let her finish, instead smiled and said. "It will be hard on you child, work hard, it's not easy serving a prince"
Ha?
Did this old man have dementia? Should she help him home instead.
Zhao Xing laughed awkwardly " Grandpa, let me help you, do you live far?" She asked.
The old man laughed, and handed some bags to her. "Not far, not far", He went on,"Let me tell you a story.."
The old man talked a lot. His home was five minutes away from where they were. He spoke through it all. If anyone where to see him speaking like this, they would think he was a healthy old man, he smiled, laughed, his steps were steady, his movements didn't look rusty at all. Only, the things he said were very weird. Old man Wang, lived in their neighborhood, with his wife. Her mother liked to visit Madam Wang to talk, she remembered her. She was sweet. Her mother always told her how fortunate she was since her husband spoilt her a lot even when they were old.
Upon arriving, Madam Wang was at the door waiting,
"Where did you go, I've been waiting…" She said as her eyes drifted to the little girl accompanying her husband. "Xing'er? What are you doing here" She smiled brightly, when she recognized her.
Zhao Xing smiled back. "Hello Grandma!"
Madam Wang nodded in response.
Zhao Xing looked at Old Man Wang, then at Madam Wang, She handed the bags to Old Lady Wang and bid them goodbye.
"Xing'er won't you join us? Grandma made a lot of yummy food" Madam Wang said.
Zhao Xing politely declined. And left after doing so a couple of times, despite Old lady Wang's insistence.
Later that night, Zhao Xing really did spend her time studying like she said she would. It took a lot of her brain cells to stay focused, but just thinking of the odd dream she had made her shake away all wondering thoughts.
As usual her brother came to visit her in her room.
His eyes widened as she stared at his big sister seriously studying. Zhao Xing only gave him a glance.
"Came to visit big sister? Or do you want big sister to give you a little goodnight kiss" She teased, with a smirk.
Zhao Yun immediately remembered the traumatizing incident in the morning, pouting, he ran off with a "humph", making Zhao Xing laugh heartily.
Amidst her laughter she suddenly felt dizzy, and her vision became blurry.
'what was happening now?' she thought to herself. And then everything went black.
So the moral of the story is for youths to stop reading manhuas and focus on studying- Ahem, it's a Joke, thank you for reading. I hope you enjoyed this pretty uneventful chapter, things will get more interesting I promise.
