Caught Redhanded

Taehyun's pov

"Put down your weapon and cuff yourself over the fence if you still want your buddy to walk out here alive!"

A familiar raspy female voice coming from the corner lot filled the air. It made me feel excited to know our other suspect was left behind after the cop assisting me let the injured one escape using their motorcycle.

It was my fault from feeling burdened by the thought of ruining the restaurant's ambience when I forcefully apprehended the muscular bald guy at the restroom, so I had to apologize for our sudden appearance and pay for the damages in rough estimation, leaving the supposedly unconscious suspect in the hands of my middle-aged partner.

I tiptoed towards the corner wall and peeked over the corner wooden wall at a low angle. From there I saw Yeonjun getting pinned on the ground in a very sexually suggestive position, with his hands up over his head.

"Hey beautiful, can we talk this over?" Yeonjun said as he rested the back of his head over his palms. "We didn't come here to hurt you."

"Heh. Yeah right." She smirked and pointed a butter knife against his tall nose. "Your friend over there did this to me earlier. Tell me how it feels to be in my shoes."

"To be honest I'm getting turned on."

My jaws fell at Yeonjun's level of confidence. I can't believe he really tried to poke a beast. He probably thinks I'm gonna back him up. Or perhaps this is his way of distracting her.

"You're a cop and yet you're a creep. Why am I not surprised?"

"I'm just being honest. Is that really a bad thing compared to a killer like you?"

"Innocent until proven guilty." She retorted and glared at him. "On the other hand, I can sue you for sexual harassment."

There's a small chance I could take her out if only my partner would realize I'm just a few steps behind him. However, he's too focused on Yeonjun so I had to do it the hard way.

"Well then come with us and I'll personally escort you to the police station to file the report."

I ducked as I carefully stepped back to enter the empty restaurant. I can still faintly hear their bickering so it's easy to maneuver around the scattered empty plastic tables and chairs.

The smell of burnt tomato sauce caught my attention but I figured if I try to turn the stove off, the suspect might flee and be free for eternity.

It was a good call since the time I reached the back door, the girl has already managed to cuff Yeonjun's wrists. I quickly blocked her path as soon as she stepped back and prepared to run. She ended up ramming against my chest and lost her balance.

"Shit! Ugh!" She groaned. I grabbed the back of her waist and immediately cuffed her right arm with my left wrist so that wherever she plans to go, she have to drag me along.

To my surprise, the girl tripped my leg and pushed me off, resulting on my back falling straight down the pile of garbage bags next to the fence. However, thanks to our strong link, she was unable to leave without a scratch. And by bumping her cheek against chest, she joined me at the worst place to take a rest.

That's how I recalled the same scent back when I got jumped on by a stranger a couple of days ago. The person who never left my mind no matter how hard I tried.
