Chapter 8 - Learning the Clickbaity Manual

After a few hours of his 1st sleep shift, Long Ren woke up and washed himself to get ready.

Although it is currently nighttime, when most people would already be done with their training and tired, Long Ren is full of energy.

He took out some stale bread, some water, and all the cultivation manuals he had put into his ring before.

Though Long Ren had made his decision internally, reading up and confirming his decision just to be sure won't hurt, and also won't waste much of his time anyway.

After 1 hour of skimming through the six books, he let out a slight chuckle.

'Heh, the third manual really is the best huh, out of all of them, it is written so well that I can understand it easier than all the rest.'

Long Ren could see some semblance of modern literature writing embedded into the manual, further affirming his theory that he is not the first earthling here.

But he digresses, as it might just be a coincidence or he is just grasping at straws.

The point is, that Long Ren felt learning from this manual is more comfortable and efficient compared to the rest of them.

And that's not calculating the better content it likely had.

Long Ren then put the rest of the 5 books back into his ring, not intending to waste any more of his time with them.

Focusing all he had on the third manual, Long Ren then began to try and cultivate, following its direction as much as he could.

Immediately, Long Ren could already feel the improvement in his cultivation speed.

This was likely caused by his spatial affinity. The Star Energy manual Long Ren cultivated before was of the neutral affinity category, meaning while everyone could learn and make use of it, it doesn't provide that much of an advantage

This time, however, as Long Ren had a good spatial affinity, his cultivation speed is bound to be increased. How much increase? Long Ren estimated that it's around 30% faster.

After cultivating using the third manual for 6 hours, Long Ren felt he had improved so much. Maybe too much…Who is he kidding, there is no such thing as too much improvement in the cultivation world.

His cultivation speed, after the third hour, has increased to a total of 50% as compared to when he uses the Star Energy manual. Staying at that level for the rest of the session. Most likely not increasing further any time soon.

He felt really content with today's gains. He got a practically made-for-him (earthling) cultivation manual,

He progressed a lot, as well as increased his cultivation speed greatly.

And last but not least, he gained a teacher, unofficially. At least from his point of view.

With that thought, he cleaned his body off of any sweat produced from his cultivation session by taking a dip in the bathtub.

Yes, he has a personal bathroom tub, and would you look at that, it is big enough to fit two people in….

That must mean something.

Anyways, with his body now clean off of any impurities such as sweat, he dived back into his futon, feeling extremely refreshed.

Nothing beats the feeling of sleeping right after a long exercise (cultivating) session!

[Daily reset!]

....

The next day.

It is currently 11 am in the morning. Long Ren had already woken up and started cultivating.

But, as he was cultivating, he heard a knock on his door. A person had come, and when he opened the door, as expected, Xing Lao was there to greet him.

'Un, good, he's already cultivating this early in the morning.' Xing Lao thought to himself and greeted Long Ren

"Good morning boy. Have you read through all the manuals I have given you yesterday?" Xing Lao asks, while, as per usual, looking suave stroking his beard

Long Ren nodded, while gesturing for Xing Lao to come inside, and so he did.

As they reached the table set they sat upon yesterday, Long Ren started the conversation.

"I have decided to learn this manual as my main cultivation method." Long Ren declared as he pointed at the clickbait manual on one side of the table, while the other five manuals rested on the other side.

Hearing Long Ren's decision, Xing Lao nodded contentedly and thought for a while. He was expecting this result as he had purposefully lifted the book's standing yesterday, rather blatantly to add.

If Long Ren choose any other cultivation manual, Xing Lao would be disappointed. One because he wouldn't be able to see the application of this weird manual he found, and Two, at Long Ren's stupidity, though that is only if Long Ren did not provide a good enough reason.

But, all that does not matter. Long Ren had chosen as per his expectations, and that made him happy. How happy you ask? Well…

"Long Ren, Do you want to become my personal disciple?"
