Mergus held his forehead with his right palm, laughing his guts out. Trickles of tears kept dripping down from the left corners of his eyes. The atmosphere filled with the echoes of his laughter.
He was sitting with his legs crossed on the top of his white bed with the shape of an orbit contour.
Luke cocked his brows at his master's strange attitude towards his report. He sighs and rubs the left side of his eyes, his head going eccentric watching his master's extreme laugh.
Mergus pauses his laughter and clears his throat. He glanced up at Luke who was still standing in front of him with a complex look on his face. Mergus smirks and starts.
"You mean, Marcus gave such others, impersonating me? " he said, furrowing his brows together. "Yes, Milord," Luke affirmed, nodding his head.
Mergus smirks, shucking his head slightly, He raises his hands and stretches his strained neck and back. He gets down from his sitting position, stands up from the bed, and walks towards the center table inside his room. He sat down and poured himself some tea from the teapot.
"Milord" Luke called out to him concerned. Mergus glances up to meet his complex gaze, raising the teacup close to his lips. He cock his brows.
"What!!" He implored, unperturbed. Luke narrows his eyes, startled. What game is this crafty man in front of him playing? "You are not saying anything Milord," he inquired with a careful tone. Mergus smirks as he gently sips his tea from the teacup. "What, exactly?" He asked, smiling meaningfully.
"Don't you find it more interesting this way?" He added, meeting Luke's disturbing gaze. He raises the corners of his lips into a corny smile.
Luke blinks to himself, 'You can only deceive the naive one not me' he thinks as stares deeply at his Master.
At that moment, a young Lady flew into the room from the gazebo, using a backflip. She stood straight with her shoulders high. "Greetings Milord," she acknowledged with a warm smile clouding her face. Her soft voice was filled with so much admiration and respect.
Mergus slowly raises his almond eyes and glances at her. He acknowledged her with a nod.
"Your Lordship, I just trailed Zambo, Marcus's right-hand man," she said with a definite voice. Her once warm expression turns to a serious one.
Mergus didn't reply to her report but continued to sip his tea gently. He listens to her every word with a calm expression. The lady continues to report her findings. "Marcus and his right-hand man left the city last night. I was able to follow them without their notice. They met up with someone in the dead cave. Who the other person is, is one thing I'm not sure of." She added confidently while shaking her head slightly.
Mergus, let out a slight chuckle from his lips. "He acted faster than I thought." Mergus proclaims. "Your Lordship, there's wide news spreading wide like fire throughout the six paranormal." The young lady added, her voice sounding serious. "Which is it?" Mergus implored with his eyes raised.
The young Lady exchanges a look with Luke hesitating. Luke coughs slightly and looks away. The young lady frowns and masks her expression with a calm smile immediately. The lights in Mergus' eyes darken as he glared at them. "Don't keep me waiting Amanda!!" Mergus's voice in a domineering tone.
Amanda cleared her throat and clarified herself. "Marcus, divulge a plan for Mass-killing under your name." She informed him in one breath. Mergus lost the color on his face. He stares at Amanda blankly. He finished the last tea on his cup in a fit of anger.
"From my findings, Marcus plans to kill every child born of the vampires. And from the information, It's not only the vampires but also the halve vamp," Luke added as well.
Mergus grinned, raising one eyebrow. "You are aware as well, " he asked him. "I was going to inform you anyway if Amanda didn't." Luke retorted, avoiding his gaze.
"My Good Brother Is Becoming Useful," Mergus said in a mysterious voice. "Is he being serious?" Luke whispered close to Amanda's left ear. She grinned slightly. "But why did l hear the sarcasm in his words?" She said, cupping her mouth. Mergus gives them a death glare. They both cough together and maintain their stance. "Milord, are you going to keep quiet about it?" Luke asked, noting the prolonged silence.
"Why?!!" Mergus asked with raised brows. "Because he is practically defaming you and using you as a cover," Luke explained with a hurtful expression. "Since the fiasco of Prophecy started, a lot has changed in the Mystic World. Marcus is one of the obvious ones. Also…" Luke continues and stops mid-sentence, hesitating.
Mergus glances at him, his expression darkening. "Also what? complete it." He commanded. Luke sighs. "It states that you are killing the newborn to stop the Prophecy," Luke concluded, looking pained.
Mergus gets up from his seat, enraged. The atmosphere of the room changed completely because of his mood. "Luke, my good brother Marcus, seeks the throne, and is willing to do anything to grab It." He said through gritted teeth. "But all the way is not a bad idea, I will love to see how this turns out." He added, his mood suddenly turning to a sly one.
Luke and Amanda stare at him confused at his words. He clicks his tongue and glances at them as he stands up from his seat. "It's like killing two birds with one stone." He asserted, smiling.
"Forgive me Milord, but don't you think it's directing more force to you?" Luke asked, his eyes full of concern. Mergus chuckles lightly. "I don't give a damn about some Prophecy, but… Do you think l will let my Enemy live? He implored cocking his eyebrows.
"So, you have a plan set out?" Luke gambled. Mergus didn't retort but glanced from Luke to Amanda. "In this case, the one the Prophecy speaks of, is not yet born. So, it will no longer be fun following my brother's callous act." He explained, getting Luke and Amanda to nod their head in understanding.
They both exchange looks with each other and turn to Mergus. "We will take our leave then, Milord." Luke asserted as they both placed their right hand on their chest with a slight bow. Mergus nodded.
"Ama!" Amanda stopped at her track as Mergus called her back. She turns to face him with a warm smile on her face. "Anything I need to do for you, My Lordship?" She asked in a soft tone. "You have done well, do take care of yourself," Mergus told her directly. Her expression froze for some meantime. "I appreciate My Lordship." She replied and left the room.

Amanda came out of the room and found Luke waiting outside the door. "You have not left yet," she asked with a cock brows. Luke smiles lightly and walks beside her. "Was waiting for you." He countered. "Oh," Amanda replied, nodding her head lightly.
They walk in silence, shoulder to shoulder in the hallway. They were greeted respectively by the servants who walked past them.
Luke glanced at Amanda who was walking with her face downcast beside him. He sighs and breaks the silence.
"Amanda, you don't need to worry about Milord!," he confessed, staring at the right of her face.
Amanda stops her movements and slowly turns her head around to face Luke.
"Are you not worried?!!" she implores with a raised voice. Luke sighs repeatedly.
"OF course I am worried, but I strongly believe that our Lordship knows what he is doing," Luke said, his voice full of enthusiasm.
Amanda shook her head in disappointment. "No, you are not!" Luke blinks his eyes twice at her words.
"You are going to watch him and do nothing!" she yells, her eyes welling up in tears.
Luke stares at the strong woman in front of him breaking emotionally. He took a step close to her and held her by the shoulders lightly.
"Get a hold of your self Amanda! I understand how much our lordship meant to you, but you need to have faith in him." Luke explained calming her down. She shrugs his hands off her shoulder and laughs mockingly.
"You don't know anything, Luke!" She said gritting her teeth.
Luke's eyes twitch at her words; feeling hurt by her words. He raises his voice at her. "AMANDA!!" Amanda shivered at his bellowing.
"Do not forget your position as a warlock. You are meant to protect our Lordship! Don't traverse that fragment." He warned.
Amanda nodded her head in understanding and left the hall with slow steps.
Luke stares at her disappearing back with conflicted emotions in his eyes.
Amanda left the palace in her usual self, radiating a strong ambiance. She sauntered into the darkness of the night.
