Rival

After Hershey, Cadmus used to be the closest to Blair at school. 

They were frenemies, and everything in between, then nothing at all. Cadmus was a complete stranger yet anything but one. Blair tried to not think about the memories that would come floating back in the dead of the night. There was no denying the fallout had deeply wounded both of them. 

However, somewhere along the way, instead of moping and mourning about what could have been, she decided to just end it once and for all. Apart from Hershey, no one should be allowed to get too close to Blair, anyway. Besides, it was simply too exhausting to be upset all the time, and to keep hoping for more in vain.

Even so, she couldn't find it in herself to stop caring about him completely. Cadmus had helped Blair many times, after all. At the very least, she wished there would be someone who'd genuinely want to be by his side.
