Zagan was staring at Penelope sitting on a bed, her hands folded in front of her. She looked like she was praying. She was alone. Neither of their two children were with her, and she looked so lost and on the verge of tears. 

His hands curled around the bars that separated them, his soul already reaching past that physical boundary to be with her. He wanted to rush to her side this instant. She was safe! Thank the lycan Goddess she was safe. 

"Let me out of the enchantment," he growled desperately. His mate couldn't see him or hear him. He may as well be a ghost watching her from the other side of the Veiled. 

Sage and Theo exchanged looks. "Do I take us all out?" Sage asked as Theo looked behind them, scanning the empty hallway. There were no vampires around, but that could change at any time. They were so fast. It would be difficult to even realize they were coming until they were there.
