"No, princess. YOU don't have a choice," Rayth hissed from behind them, and they all spun around, confronted by the first prince, the queen, and a large number of guards that were approaching from the rear of the palace, spreading out in a circular formation.
Theo tore into his wolf and snarled a warning that caught their attention long enough for him to flash his enchantment their way. It worked, and Cora gasped as the Queen and Rayth both froze like Grayson. But then a flurry of movement came from every side as the guards closed in. There was no way he could take care of that many vampires all at once.
Cora felt his predicament, sensing it as if they were her own unspoken thoughts. With little time to think over whether or not it would actually work since she had never tried it, Cora lifted her hands and sent the life-giving gift she had in an arc around her, piercing each hollow vampiric aura with a ray of light that burned furiously to life.
