Trap Deal

"I believe you can do it. I'm sorry I can't take you to your destination," I said.

Honestly, I felt guilty having to leave them and break the agreement that was made earlier. However, Casserie didn't seem to hold any grudges and understood what had happened to me.

"Riegar forced you to make a deal, didn't he?" Casserie asked.

I was speechless to hear her say that. But, unfortunately, what Casserie said was right; he forced me to agree to the proposed deal.

"Yes. We agreed to exchange something important," I reply.

"I see. After all, the dark elves will soon be destroyed; there will be no more enmity between the white elves and the dark elves," Casserie explained.

"The next journey will be quite easy for us. So you don't have to worry," the woman continued.

"Hope you can live—"

Suddenly Casserie hugged me right before I finished my words. Her embrace was as tight as a mother's hug to her child.
