Ch.20 Don't drag me into this.

We then sat down, and he told me what he wanted me to do. I was hoping that it wasn't something crazy. He said, "Right now, I just want you to keep an eye out on Harry."

I looked at him, and he looked at me, and I asked, "That's it?"

He chuckled and said, "For now, that's it? Don't worry, your father has a lot of things planned for you."

I shook my head and said, "I suppose I am good with what you are asking me to do."

He nodded, and I asked him, "But how will you even get the stone? Isn't it heavily guarded?"

He looked at me, and he nodded, "It is, but I have been able to take some peeks inside, and it doesn't look all that challenging to be honest… I am just worried about something unexpected messing up my plans."

I nodded, and he said, "Don't worry, child, I'll be… we'll be successful as long as we stick to the plan." He sighed and said, "I will be whole in no time."

I was walking towards the Slytherin common room. I was still a little on edge from earlier, I still don't know what to do with all this. Voldy asking me to spy on Harry was a very lightweight task, but it still was risky, being involved in his plot and all.

I entered the common room and someone called out my name, I turned to look, and it was Victoria. She was sitting with Daphne. I walked towards them and Victoria asked, "Where were you?"

I sat down next to her and said, "I was with Prof. Quirrell, we were studying."

Daphne looked at me and asked, "So what did he teach you how to run at the sight of danger?"

I chuckled and Victoria said, "She is kinda right, you know he is not that good."

I shook my head and said, "That may be, but I am getting extra credits so, it's alright."

Daphne looked at me and said, "You are getting extra credits?"

I nodded, and I asked, "So what have you guys been doing?"

We talked for a little while, but I still couldn't relax… he was still on my mind. I decided to turn in early and went to my room to sleep. I was laying on my bed. I was struggling to sleep and Cotton asked me, "What is wrong?"

I sighed and said, "Well, my father wants to steal the philosopher's stone, and he asked me to help him… but I don't want to do it."

She came closer to the glass wall and said, "Then don't do it."

I chuckled and said, "Not that easy, cotton. My father is the dark lord… he kills people for less… he will surely off me if I don't obey."

Cotton nodded and said, "Then, just go along for now, until you can think your way out of it." She asked, "What does he want anyway?"

I sighed and told her about it, and she said, "So if he can't get it out, then why even bother?"

I said, "I know that, but he doesn't… wait he doesn't know how it works… If he can't get it himself, then it doesn't matter what I tell him… I will be fine." I looked at cotton and said, "Thank you cotton, thank you so much."

She sighed and nodded. She went back to sleep and I sighed in relief.

From the following day I started to report to Voldy every day after the school ended and since I told him the truth I was safe. I didn't have anything important to say like it was mostly usual days because the exams were here everyone was just studying and all that even the golden trio.

So it was smooth sailing so far, but today that changed. Today was the final exam and I think I got a good score across the board and, if I remember correctly, today is the day when the heist will happen.

I was sitting in the Library. Victoria, all the members of the group, were in the common room celebrating. I had to report to Voldy, so I told them that I will be there soon. I was sitting at the table and reading and I heard footsteps closing in, and I heard a voice.

"Are you sure we need him?" I looked up and found Ron, Harry and Hermione walking towards me. Ron was the one who said that.

Hermione stopped at the table and said, "Jon, we need your help."

I put my book down, and I asked, "You need my help with?"

Ron looked at Hermione and begged her not to do it. While Hermione squinted at him. She looked at me and said, "There is something…" She told me why she was looking up Nicolas Flamel and why she suspected that someone was about to steal it.

I shook my head and asked, "So you think someone is about to steal the Philosopher's stone, today? Who?" I was really hoping they say Quirrell.

Harry looked at me and said, "Snape."

I cursed inside, and I asked, "Why do you think it's Snape?"

Harry looked at me and said, "Because I have seen him, lurking around the third floor, and I have seen him trying to sneak out of there, multiple times."

I looked at him and was about to say something, but I heard, "No, you are not doing anything." They turned around to see who it was, and it was Victoria. She looked at me, and she said, "I thought that you were coming soon."

I shrugged my shoulders and said, "As you can see, I have been talking."

She walked toward the table and said, "Yeah, nonsense…"

Harry looked at her and said, "Come on, you don't think something is going on?"

She looked at him and said, "That may be the case, but what do you hope to do against a grown wizard, Harry?" It did make a lot of sense. She then touched Harry's shoulder and said, "Listen to me, leave this for the adults… he and I are not going to be a part of this."

I looked at her and said, "I do think we should talk about it a little more." She turned and said, "No, we're leaving… Now!"

She grabbed me from my collar and dragged me out. That felt a little demeaning. While she was dragging me, I asked her, "What if it's all true?"

Victoria scoffed and said, "You think Prof. Snape is trying to steal the stone?"

I shrugged my shoulders and said, "May not be him, but what if someone is trying to steal it?"

Victoria stopped and asked, "My question still stands, what do can you do against a grown wizard?"

I hummed and nodded, and I said, "Hey, can you like stop on the way to DADA?"

So she didn't stop at DADA. I had to go after dinner to DADA class to talk to Quirrell or Voldy. It's a bit confusing. I entered his office and he was packing his stuff. He turned around and said, "Jon, I was wondering when you would show up." He continued and asked, "So, what do you have for me?"

I smacked my lips and said, "Well, Harry suspects that Prof. Snape will steal the stone tonight at midnight… so they are hoping to stop him."

He stopped, and he thought for a second and I asked, "What?"

He shook his head and said, "Nothing, but how did you know this… it's not something they will reveal to anyone."

I shrugged my shoulders and said, "Well, they came to talk to me… they hoped that I could help them in stopping Snape…"

He smiled and said, "Excellent, this is wonderful."

I started to curse inwardly, why is he happy? I was confused and asked, "Why are you happy? It is a problem, right?"

He shook his head and looked at me and said, "It is, but it can turn into an opportunity just as quickly."

I looked at him and asked, "What do you mean?"

He smiled and said, "I want you to go with Harry, help him… bring him there."

I was confused and worried, does he know he can't get it or is it something else entirely. I asked "Why?"

He sighed and said, "We can't stop them from coming but, if you are with them, you can take them out easily."

I knew this wasn't going to be that easy. I looked at him and asked, "Take them out? What are you talking about?"

He grunted but then exhaled and said, "I mean knock them out easily… and no one will suspect you. They trust you, son… believe me, it will be easy."

I don't have a choice right now. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to be involved with it, but it seems like I will be dragged into it anyhow.
