[Bonus chapter] Elias' past lover

Amaira didn't utter another word on the short journey back to her room; she was busy conspiring about how she would make it to the lobby under the watchful eye of the unreasonable nurse.

The nurse pushed Amaira's wheelchair close to the bed and intended to help her from her chair, but the stubborn blonde refused her help and got up on her own before collapsing on the bed.

Amaira tucked herself under the covers, turning her back away from the nurse as she stared at the setting sun through the glass window. She lost herself in the beautiful view but was forced back to reality when burgundy drapes suddenly obstructed her sight.

The nurse turned to her with a sad expression. "I'm sorry, Miss Hendrix," she apologized first. "But Miss Cross' skin is sensitive to the sun's rays; I had to pull the drapes."
