Xavier blocked Bella's path

★★

Isabella was walking at a leisurely pace and could not smell the danger. Conversely, sharp daggers were shooting at her back and the person's heart vomited poison for Bella, where Bella had done nothing wrong to be treated like this. Especially since Bella considered her a friend.

"Bella," a voice called, and Bella turned. Bela smiled at the person, who returned a smile to Bella, hiding the animosity behind it.

"Casey, how are you?" Bella asked, hugging her, but she didn't know she was hugging a snake that was making the venom for killing her.

"I'm fine. I've heard you're taking part this year. I am glad you changed your mind," Casey told Bella, holding her shoulder.

"Nah... I don't agree with it yet. I don't know if I'll be able to," Isabella answered, whatever was in her heart. She had always been like this, never weighing her heart with unnecessary resentment. She was as clean as water to her friends.

"But I think you should play," Casey smiled and asserted while her nails dug into her palms that Bella's eyes missed or she would feel that Casey was up to something.

"Thank you. By the way, are you searching Noah?" Isabella asked teasingly.

"No, I am looking for you," Casey said and snickered inside. In truth, she wanted Bella to know, but she was looking for her to hunt her.

"Looking for me?" Bella repeated the sentence.

"Yes, I am looking for you," Casey answered and waited for Bella to ask her the reason.

"Why? Do you need any help?" Bella questioned.

"No, no. I need nothing," Casey politely refused, adding another sentence, "Tomorrow is my birthday. I am throwing a party, just a girls' party. Will you come with Beth and Dan?"

"I'll be glad to come. But in my opinion, girl, you should go out with Noah. Ask him. By no means he will refuse you," Isabella pushed Casey to go out with Noah. In Bella's eyes, they are perfect to be a couple.

"Nah," Casey said, pursing her lips. Naturally, Casey was holding herself enough not to pounce and kill Bella in the college. She hated Isabella's face. And her acting was unbearable for Casey to enjoy more.

"I won't ask him or he will break my heart on my birthday," Casey answered when Bella immediately opened her mouth to say something, but Casey cut her off by saying, "Bella, I want a girls' night. I will ask Noah later."

"Sure, I'm acting like a matchmaker. Don't worry, I will come. Text me the place," Bella confirmed. Instantly Casey smiled, concealing a thousand of hate. Also, thinking her plan had worked, she bubbled with happiness and hugged Bella.

"I will, tonight. Bye, see you later," Casey said and left Bella on the spot. However, as Casey walked a little farther, a smile cracked upon her face; an accomplishment smile. She became evil in human skin.

Bella looked at Casey's back and felt today Casey was over-friendly with her. Though, she knew Casey had a reason because she and Noah are friends. Therefore, Casey wanted to have a good relationship with her to get Noah, which was natural.

Bella changed her way to Rachel's canteen to spend time with Rachel, as Danny and Bethany hadn't arrived yet and there was still time for class to start.

She took a different way, which was a shortcut, but not a very busy path to the Rachel's canteen. While she was walking, her gaze wandered and found that today was a quiet day in this way. But still, it was normal, as many of the students were hanging out on the playground because the games drew near, so there was a lot of practice going on.

She looked down at her feet and found there were wet footsteps before her as if someone with wet shoes had walked on this path. Although there was nothing worth noticing, however, there were no footprints besides that shoes and Bella's.

Bella took her phone out to call Bethany and Danny, giving them the knowledge of where she was, but a figure suddenly appeared in front of her, making her scream in fear, and she backed away while her phone dropped to the floor.

"Panicky Bird," the figure commented and laughed. Bella picked the phone up from the floor and raised her gaze to the person. Her mood immediately dropped and a secure barrier circled her within a second.

"Did I scare you, miss Isabella?" the figure who had green eyes asked Bella and leaned against the wall, blocking the path completely.

"Yes, anyone can be scared if someone appeared out of nowhere," Bella replied with hostility. As this man hadn't a great impression on her. Her gut always said this man was just a person who had an ulterior motive. Every phrase had come from his mouth coated with lies and had a smell of evil.

"Pardon me, Miss Isabella," Xavier offered a bow and joked, which irritated Bella more. She did not like to continue any conversation with this man. So, her next sentence was a polite refusal of everything and an obvious hint for Xavier to leave her alone.

"Alright, Mr. Xavier. I think you have lost your way. By the way, you can follow this path and it will take you to the office room," Isabella said and smiled proficiently but tedium was noticeable.

"I am not lost. I am waiting for you to talk," Xavier said, taking a step ahead to Bella.

In contrast, Bella was surprised how did he know she would take this path.

Usually, she preferred the outer way to the canteen. It was just she changed her mind today, which was abrupt. Then what did his words mean?

"You are waiting for me? Here? Strange, Mr. Xavier. I didn't know you have psychic power," Bella carefully said, as she was alone with this man.

"Haha," Xavier laughed, tilting his head back as Isabella's word was the funniest joke he ever heard.

"I have more than a psychic power. I can give you a tour of hell, miss Bella," Xavier said and became serious.

Bella's chest tightened in fear. She didn't feel it was funny. Although his words were unusual, could be taken as a joke. However, Bella felt they were quite intense.

"Why are you scared?" Xavier questioned, as he could see the sweat on Bella's forehead.

"No, I am not. Since you have something to talk about, please make it fast. I have important work to do," Isabella said, pushing down her nervousness. Admittedly, she was scared. She had an acute perception in her heart that this man was a destroyer.

"Yes, do you have any knowledge of what happened to that girl after you left the college, who vomited blood?" Xavier whispered.

"No, actually I'll ask my friends because they are with her at that time so I thought it would be better for me to ask them," Isabella answered slowly. She didn't understand why he mentioned the girl, not that she was a teacher or the girl's relative. Actually, she had no connection with her.

"The girl is in ICU for lung failure. I don't think she will live," Xavier said with a smile as if he was enjoying it. The girl's miseries were a pleasure to him.

Even though Bella was not ready to hear something like this. Besides, she was disgusted by his pleased face.

"You don't seem sad," Bella said.

"Why should I? I'm not responsible for this situation of hers. I think the person should be pleaded guilty, who caused this," Xavier whispered, puzzling Bella.

"I think you are sick. No one can cause someone's lung failure," Bella exclaimed. Now she was exhausted by his nonsense.

"Yes, some people can. When they are angry, they harm people," Xavier answered.

Subsequently, Bella's grip tightened over her phone, and her eyelids trembled.

"Okay, I don't understand any of your words, and neither I have time to speak in riddles. In fact, keep your suggestion and knowledge to yourself. I want to take my leave, thank you," Isabella completed and took a step ahead when Xavier again blocked her path, but this time a voice saved her day.

"Mr. Xavier.

It was Stacy's voice that was understandable without looking back and for the first time, Bella was grateful to Stacy.

Because of Stacy, Bella saw Xavier take his step aside before her and made a way for her to go.

Isabella annoyingly looked at that man and left with hasty steps.
