Chapter 39 - Twin Goddess Sword

Walking through the town didn't take them a long time to be at the center of the city. Caelum was taking a tour within his childhood city accompanied by his cousin, Dalia and sister, Liliena as well as her best friend, Annie. The three seem to get along amazingly well while he remains silent watching them from the side.

'Though we're in the heart of the city, it seems that there aren't a lot of people.'

Caelum could barely see any people walking through the sidewalk but it was to be expected since it was still early in the morning. They were taken through special spots and directions for their new high school after several hours walking around the town. Dalia took them to a nearby steakhouse to have their lunch while Caelum called his mom informing them that they wouldn't be having dinner.

"Are you really sure you won't try Eternum?"

"Hmmm, I guess I'll try playing later with you girls. I'll do what I was planning later this week then."

He planned to reach the evolved form of his [ Dragon ] since he was close to advancing thanks to his [ Absolute Devourer Ammutseba ]. Caelum decided that it was the perfect time for them to bond as family and have fun.

Additionally, he's been studying the Eternum gear and has placed some upgrades where they're in-game characters would affect their real life body. It won't be drastic since he's still studying but enough to strengthen them.

Caelum would have to temper with Mary and Annie's Eternum gear when he gets the chance. He had studied the technology, finding that it was extremely advanced yet in the level of human capabilities without any traces of magical energy.

"Then what would be your first server? There's so many kinds of server from cyberpunk fantasy to medieval magic and knights."

"I'll check fantasy first since it was always my forte."

This is the reason why he had chosen black clover for his fascination regarding the magic and knight system when he could have chosen a world where technology was more advanced. Caelum noticed how Annie wanted to invite him in her favorite server.

He believes that she was one who particularly enjoyed the Sci-Fi world and recalled how her favorite movie was ready player one.

"Ah, I was going to invite you to my favorite server but maybe next time."

"Hahahah sure, still I don't mind either way. How about this, let me flip a coin. Heads for fantasy and tails for medieval? It would be fair and no one would be biased. I could see Dalia eager to invite me in her server and guess it has a magic fantasy theme."

"How did you guess??"

"You've mentioned Lord of the Rings being your favorite movie and guess that it would be your prefered world."

Dalia was delighted that he remembered their little chat and was able to deduce the things she liked. Caelum took out a coin then flick into the hair with two of the girls praying for their sides while chibi Liliena  just chilled, eating her steak unfazed by the tense atmosphere.

'Which side is it!?'

'Hope it's tails!'

'This is sooooo delicious!!'

Caelum hid the result with the two girls intently waiting to see the answer where the world seemed to slow down while he gradually removed his hands and caused the two girls to gasp.

"It seems like we're going to be in a fantasy world soon."

"Hell yeah! Now I'm exercising to show you around the kingdom!"

"Too bad my pick didn't land but I don't mind fantasy world anyway. I'm just happy to finally play with Liliena and Caelum."

"Me too, anyways let's finish up before the food gets too cold."

Everyone ate their lunch and after they were done they headed back home to finally play some games. Caelum had learned that in game time is diluted from 1:3 hours comparison. It was unfortunate he couldn't dilute it further without negatively affecting every player because their brain would likely fry if he went beyond that.

Though physical stress wouldn't be severe, mental stress could cause permanent damage if they are not careful. Caelum was getting dressed in eternum gear then had a chip plugged into his brain.

At first they wanted to invite Mary but she was occupied and unable to join them. Caelum guessed that she had important things to do. She was still not in Krendon and only had progress of moving into her villa near the city.

"You don't have to worry about anything, it would feel weird at first but you'll get used to it."

"Hahaha I know, I'm eager to see your character."

Annie set up the gear before slowly feeling his motor senses had been cut off but considering he had split mind that occupied both body and mind it only took a moment before he was able to feel again. Caelum soon heard a robotic voice that was completely different from Cereza gaining a 100% compatibility that was impossible since he learned only 50% already extremely rare.

'Cereza are you still there?'

[ Of course, I am attached to you, not just your body. I'm also beyond conventional space that games and metaphysical world can be bypassed by me. ]

'Oh, alright, can I still access everything?'

[ Yes, nothing had change beside having the opportunity to take this games merit into your own. ]

While the two were talking, Caelum finds himself naked in white room then notices a beautiful woman dressed in a rather skimpy outfit while also wearing a blindfold.

"We are glad to have you, Caelum."

"Where is this place?  who are you?""

"I am Idriel, but most people call me Idriel. This place is like a loading screen until your body has fully adapted…amazing, it is already done!"

Caelum raised his eyebrow upon how the artificial intelligence reacted and could guess that she somehow had sentient yet without a soul. Though, it wasn't likely the case doesn't matter since he isn't planning on viewing them any less human considering it was possible to get arrested in the game.

For some reason, those who commit a crime within a safe area would be arrested in real life. He questioned the company's reason since it was just a game but guessed it to give the game more immersion.

"Now, before you hop into any of the servers there is something you have to know."

"No, need. I've already done my research."

"Is that the case then we wish you good luck, Caelum."

He gave a nod before his vision shifted, arriving at a strange altar standing unfazed by everything since his body is highly adaptable to change. Caelum turned around to notice his sister on the floor seemingly nauseous from the effect of the game.

"Liliena, are you alright? Here let me help you"

"Gaah my head feels horrible."

"That's normal for a first time player like you but I'm surprised you weren't the same Caelum."

Dalia walked towards them wearing a rather fantasy silver armor that covered her body head to toe beside the face. It was the typical boob armor that showed her curves despites it impracticality. Caelum helped her sister while looking at them and noticed Annie behind her.

"Woah! Why do you look like that, Caelum!?"

Annie had longer hair in her game character yet still retained everything else. Caelum spread his senses finding that her magical energy was rather large around a vice captain level in black clover and Dalia around the same but they were as strong and only had the same energy stored in their body.

Caelum tilted his head then inspected himself and found that he was wearing his tempest uniform. He had a coat tied around his waist while wearing combat pants and boots along with sleeveless turtleneck

"These shouldn't be clothes for low level players like you. Did something happen?? Also why is your hair red and eyes golden?"

"What really!?"

Annie took out a mirror out of nothing and showed his face without the illusion he normally cast. Caelum had to guess it was Cereza who decided to make him look that way.

"I'll be damn, I don't know how but this does look great."

"How about we go ahead and give you all a tour? We're also going to get you two a weapon but…I guess Liliena would have to get the better ones first."

Dalia took them outside where everyone was greeted by fresh air and a medieval setting where there were many players hanging out. The place was a safe zone where those who commit a crime would be arrested however self defense would not trigger it. They also guards that would execute anyway that disobey their orders to surrender.

In addition when a player dies every item that the person has would be lost and level would return to zero therefore it is always played with caution.

"I must say you two look amazing in those fantasy armor."

"Thanks, Caelum. It took me a lot of grinding to reach my level and finally wear this armor along with wielding this sword."

"I'm happy to hear that, I also took a while to gain my level but it seems Dalia has a higher level than me. I'm only 25 while she's 37."

"Don't be discouraged, I mean this place isn't your environment to be in anyway."

"Is there any limit in the level?"

"As far as we know there isn't one, Liliena."

"The highest level player is around 80 and it's an anonymous person."

"Considering people lose level when they die, I guess it's amazing that a person can reach that far."

Caelum commented for someone to reach that heights when losing everything is high would likely have a ridiculous dumb luck to survive that long. The group soon arrived at the blacksmith workshop where they were greeted by a typical old man.

"Oh, how is my favorite customer! You've brought new people!!"

"How are you, old Brand! These are my cousins, Caelum and Liliena while the other girls are their friend, Annie."

"Hahaha I can see you all are here for beginner gear? You can browse my shop and if you caught anything interesting then just tell me."

Everyone then started to look for weapons with Caelum taking the opportunity to be alone while the others were distracted and took out two blades that were his guardian beast that shimmered causing everyone to go to find him and found Caelum wielding two blade with one purest light that contrast by one made from sinister glow.

"Hey kid, where did you get that weapon!?"

"Wait, that isn't one of yours, Old Brand?"

Dalia was baffled even more when the sword dematerialized into two women, surprising the others kneeling before Caelum who acted surprise to hide the truth and asking who they were.

"Hello there, my master."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Master."

"Woah, they can talk!?"

"What exactly is going on?"

"To answer your question, we are the twin goddess sword and Lord Caelum is the one we have chosen to be our master."

"This is the first time I heard of it!? Are these part of the weapon of atlas??"

"We are not."

"Alright alright let's come and sort the situation."

Caelum calms everyone down by taking everything and explaining the background story that they prepared beforehand. The twin sword disappeared, turning into a tattoo within the palm of his hands. He had named the two Mia, the light one and Mio, the dark one. Dalia still couldn't believe that Caelum had just acquired a special item that none yet acquired while Annie was more interested in the weapon than anything else.

"Have you chosen a weapon yet, Liliena?"

"I decided to make a spear as my main weapon."

"Oh a fine choice, I can see the young lady to be talented in it."

The old man commented and after a while paid for the items, giving Liliena better armor appearing more elegant than before while Caelum remained with his clothes.

"Let's head to the training grounds before we start hunting monsters."
