Chapter Thirty-Three

Alzie was silent the whole way to the guard house. They passed by many villagers, who rushed their kids inside the moment they saw Cyro. The vines tied around his hands and jaws a clear sign that he broke the law. Alzie was barely keeping it together. He didn't want the one man who has been there for him when no one else was dead. Nor did he ever wish to see him like this. If it wasn't for Vilen, and a few guards, walking with them he would have snuck Cyro out of the village. Now he has no choice but to let things proceed. It was, of course, all of Mira's fault as well. If she could have just kept to herself and kept her head down. She was progressively proving humans to be the destruction that they were. Even Frazen was with them. He was sure the fox was enjoying himself. Finally able to have Cyro out of the way, so they could be together. Part of him will always love Cyro, no matter what. He did think that maybe he should try to see a relationship with Frazen, due to the circumstances. He quickly pushed the thought away as the entered the building against the wall. Cyro will be led to a room where he'd be locked inside, no windows and no bed. He stayed at the door as everyone continued down. He couldn't watch anymore.

As soon as Vilen came back he turned and left. He never walked so fast in his life. He rushed past a now empty village and into the chief's hut. Past everyone including Heili, straight to his room. He slammed the door shut, the sorrow and pain flooding him like a tidal wave. He tried so hard to hold it in. Everyone he cared about always left him. He threw the chair in his room out the window in an attempt to keep the tears at bay. The sound of the door opening and silently closing caused him to freeze. Frazen slowly approached him like he was some wild animal. He wanted to pull away, but the sun on his fur looked like dancing fire. It was somehow calming for him. He placed a paw on his hand and the other on his face. He could feel the tears begin to run down his face as Frazen came closer. His beautiful eyes shining brighter than ever. Next thing he knew he was throwing Frazen onto the bed. He nipped and grinned against him, wishing to drown everything out with pleasure. Frazen pushed at him forcing him to look at him.

"Not now, you need to grieve." His soft voice was sooth.

He gave up and laid in his arms, silently crying in Frazen's embrace. He didn't know how long they had been laying there as the sun slowly began to set. He knew Frazen must leave soon before Heili came and found them. He sat up, moving off of him whipping his tears away. Frazen stood up and gently grabbed his face. He looked up and smiled at him as he placed a goodbye kiss on his forehead.

"Come get me anytime you wish." He whispered his face a breath away.

"I will." He placed a hand on Frazens, glad of the company. "Thank you."

With that he quickly left leaving the room vacant once more. Knowing Heili would be there soon he quickly got under the covers and pretended to be asleep. He could hear her quietly walk in. Feel her hands on him as she tried to wake him. She eventually gave up when it became apparent that nothing would wake. She got off him and laid down as well. He kept an eye on her breathing, waiting for it to slow so he may leave. It didn't take long as night was already there, the stars out the window were beautiful to see. It was a view he was not used to seeing. His mind was full of Cyro and Frazen. Grieving over Cyro and wanting Frazen. He silently got up, sneaking out the door and down the hall. He knew sleep wasn't going to come, and he needed Frazens embrace. Lately he's been the only one he could rely on. Funny to think the fox used to annoy him and make him weary, now he was slowly becoming more.

He creaked the door open and found Frazen at the window looking out over the garden. His fur looked so much more beautiful in in the sunlight. The white specs in his red coat shining like sliver mist. He closed the door and walked to Frazen. He fell to knees at his side waiting for his embrace. Without skipping a beat Frazen wrapped his arms around him and held him. He hadn't realized he had started shaking till then. They both sat silently at the window, holding each other. He hadn't cried in years and now it was all coming out nonstop. He cried till his eyes hurt and his throat nearly closed. He could feel sleep begin to take him, but he didn't have the energy to get up. He could feel the peaceful darkness taken him as he rested more weight onto Frazen. He could feel Frazen shift under his weight, slowly laying him down on the ground. He was gone for a second, then was placing a pillow under his head and curling next to him. Making sure they were both in under the blanket he brought. He closed his eye and dreamed of that wonderful day in the snow with his mother.

They were picking the red berries; he was giggling with her as they did so. He was so happy in that moment. Then the berries one by one began turning to blood in his hand. His mother now gone; Cyro kneeled a few feet away still a child like him. He ran to him the snow crunching under his feet. The crunch faded and became squishy, and the snow turned red. In front of Cyro was his mother face down in the snow. He reached for Cyro. But the moment his hand touched him; he fell over dead blood pooling from him as well. He tried to scream as the blood began rising up higher and higher. He could hear a sound in the distance. The louder it got the clearer it became.

"Alzie!" He jerked awake at Frazens unusually harsh voice, the nightmare already beginning to fade away.

"Hmmmmm," he grabbed Frazen's hips and pulled him closed, nuzzling into him.

"ALzie, you need to get up." He ran a hand down his back and then back up. "Heili will be looking for you."

"Mmmmm, screw Heili." He nuzzled further into Frazen, letting his hands grip his ass.

"So, you don't care if Heili finds out?" He grabbed one of his horns and forced him to look at him.

"I know you locked your bedroom door." He grabbed harder in response but didn't show any emotion on his face. His heart was still breaking from yesterday's events and Frazen made the pain lessen. He couldn't handle Heili today anyway. Frazen pulled out of his arms and said he'd go get breakfast. He rolled over onto his back and looked up at the ceiling. He could already feel the pain begin to take him over. He closed his eyes as images of them growing up together flashed in his head. They both had lost their mothers, only Cyro didn't have a father either. His mother was the last of the asexual females and conceived Cyro on her own. Though she died in childbirth. Skal raised him for a short time, but soon Cyro was forced to care for himself. He laughed to himself remembering how small and weak Cyro was as a child. Neither one of them expected him to become that beast he is now. Neither one also didn't ever think that this would be his fate. How he longed for the simpler days. Frazen came back with the food, and they ate and cuddled. Well, more like Frazen ate, but he just picked at his food. He decided he'd spend the entire day in that room away from everything in hopes that time out just stop for one day.
