Chapter 16

Cyro stretched under the sunlight. He had woken up before Mira and watched her sleep for a bit. He gently moved from under her, making sure not to wake her. She was so peaceful when she wasn't snoring. It was the snoring that woke him up. At one point she had started talking in her sleep too. Talking about some sort of bacon or whatever. He made is way down the building and started pulling the vines of the side. They should be strong enough all together to pull Alzie. He can't carry him the whole way, it would only slow them down. He hadn't heard her follow him as he turned around and nearly plowed over her.

"Oh, geez!" He certainly got a start from it. " I didn't know you were there."

"I just joined you. Wondering if I could help?" She just gazed up at him hands behind her back.

"Sure, I'll show you how to tie vines." He patted her head and continued back to Alzie.

They would definitely need to find some water and herbs to clean his wound properly. He placed the vines down and looked at Alzie.

"Hey don't worry, we're going to get you help." He placed his hand on his shoulder and smile.

Mira came and sat by him and smiled at Alzie as well. They both quickly created a vine bed. Mira turned out to be quiet the quick learner. He used the last six vines to create to big vine ropes. He'll use them to pull the bed. Mira tried to help lift Alzie onto the vine bed, but she bare moved him. Since she couldn't help with Alzie she would have to get, and carry, the supplies. He wasn't0hp worried about the herbs. She seemed to know quiet about about plants. He was however worried about the water. He doubt she was strong enough to carry all the water they would need. He lifted Alzie top half first, then his lower half, onto the vine bed. He knew that Alzie couldn't move but if he could. The look in his eyes told him everything. He couldn't help but laugh.

"Sorry, Alzie." He tried to stay serious. " Don't worry you can snap at me when your better."

Dragging Alzie down the stairs was difficult. He tried his best to not worsen any existing wounds, and to not cause new ones. They paused outside as he took a better look at their surroundings. Being as Alzie, and him had been here before, he knew there was a stone pool full of water. Leading Mira past another tall building, he found the statue of half a man's body. It had been broken for years. The sound of Miras gasp halted him. She stared at it, hand to her mouth. She must of seen it fully intact. Giving it a touch with her fingers she turned and went to his side. He looked down at her knowing it must have drudged up memories. They moved quickly till they finally came to a building. It was half collapsed, but the stone pool of water was untouched. Above it was a naked woman on a horse. They stood on a flat surface which acted as a podium. On it was a beasts head with a hole inside. Possibly were the water used to come from. It had three different sections, but only the top part had water inside. He watched Mira run over and fill the bota bags. He did admire the view for a moment as she bent over to collect the water. Poor girl had to climb up there and climb back down. First thing they need to do when they get Alzie taken care of is get her in better shape. If that was possible. She can't survive very well being as weak and delicate as she is now.

Once all the bota bags were full, he decided to take a small detour to get some herbs. The hers should help slow the process of the venom. As long as applied properly. Cyro had to become knowledgeable in every subject possible. Him being an orphan on top of being different ment he could have easily been cast aside. Being of great use insured his place in the tribe. The humidity and heat felt like nice here. He did notice Mira seemed rather hot. Her skin was wet suddenly, and she was breathing heavy. She also began to have a bit of a smell. Instead of sweet peppermint, he began to smell salty peppermint. It wasn't a good smell. Maybe he should have let her bath a bit. To think of it they should try to camp near some water. Just incase they need more water. He finally reached a brick building covered in moss. It was surrounded by flowers and plants of all sorts. There was a sign on the ground, most of the words faded. They came to call it The Botnic. He just figured humans had strange names. Mira's name being an exception. She seemed to know this place as well by the way she just rushed in. He already knew of a few plants they would need. Hellebore, corydalis, and Jacob's ladder. He didn't know if they'll be able to use any others. He pulled Cyro into the building as the sun began to set. Day one came and gone. They made pretty good progress for the first day, but they'll have to be faster tomorrow.

He went ahead and made a fire as they sat and waited for Mira to return. He trusted her knowledge of herbs. Infact he wouldn't be surprised if she brought other herbs back with her. He could see her coming back through the trees. She seemed to be trying to keep certain herbs separate from the others. He looked at the plants in her hands as she laid them out. She did grab the three he knew they would need, but the other two he was unsure of.

"Mira, I know you studied plants." He gave her a worried look as he spoke to her. "But aren't those plants toxic."

"Yes, but if you use them right they shouldn't cause any harm." She began stripping on of the plants. "This here is Dutchman's Pipe. If not carefully used it will be deadly." She stopped and reached for the other. "This is Lily of the Valley also deadly, especially to those of the feline species. You must never try to use this."

"Then why did you grab it?" He just felt confused at this point.

"I may not be very strong, but what I lack in strength I make up for in brains." He could see her trying to hide a smile. "I plan to make a spear and use the Lily of the Valley as a poison. Incase we run into those creatures again."

He didn't speak further. He had greatly under estimated Mira and didn't want to admit it. He watched as she skillfully cleaned Alzies wound, and prepared the herbs. The Dutchman's Pipe seemed to be the most complicated of the other herbs. She didn't seem to even want to touch it with her bare hands, till she had a small amount prepared. She places the herbs on a big leaf, spreading them out evenly. Placing the leaf and wrapping she quickly finished. They spent the rest of the night next to Alzie. Just to be sure that the plants didn't affect him negatively. He never knew he would meet someone who not only small and delicate. But also seemed to be quiet deadly. He made a mental note to not get on her bad side. She could easily do away with him if she wanted, and would only need one flower to do so. She read to both of them tonight, making sure to check Alzie's vitals every now and then.
