Chapter 67 - Memories

I opened my eyes to the sound of rippling water, where I found myself standing in the water. I tried to look around, but there was nothing but water.

Two massive gray moons were almost brushing the water. I saw a woman standing afar. Her long silver ombre long hair had reached the water like a white flame. As she turned, my eyes met a familiar pair of winter-gray eyes. An impenetrable sadness was apparent in those eyes.

"Lady Athanasia?" I mumbled. There was no doubt about it. The exquisite beauty standing before me looked the same as Lord Cardis.

She was so pale that it felt like she would dissolve in the water. Shortly, a few scenarios appeared before my eyes.

A little girl, barely ten, with silver hair and winter-gray eyes, was standing in front of a massive door. She looked anxious. She was in a dilemma, deciding whether to knock or go back.

Suddenly, the door opened as a lot younger Arendt appeared behind it. His cold eyes pierced through Lady Athanasia.
