Chapter 49 -- Lake

I got captured in the worst possible way. Lord Cardis said he would let me go to the royal palace to meet my father. However, to get that opportunity, he had ridiculous demands I needed to fulfill.

Arendt knocked at my door. My blood boiled just by his existence. Shortly, he entered.

"Why bother to knock when you are going to enter, even if I say no?" I asked bitterly.

Arendt asked a new set of maids to enter the room. The maids entered the room with a gorgeous ash blue gown on a mannequin. Butterflies were designed near the chest and waist.

I had never seen such a beautiful gown before. Makeup, dresses, and ornaments were the last things in the world that I cared about.

"Wear this and come by the lake, Lady Alessandra. My Lord wishes to go boat riding with you," Arendt said.

"You!" I stared at Arendt coldly. "Do you think I am ten years old? Why are you treating me like one?" I asked.
