The spiritual field and ordinary farmland are still somewhat different.
Normally understood,
The spiritual field is land with richer soil, allowing crops to grow better and mature faster.
It's already the fourth day since arriving in this world.
Although there's no worry about food and drink, eating roasted meat for every meal without any seasoning is indeed a bit monotonous.
The appearance of the spiritual field may allow planting of some crops, thus diversifying the diet.
"You guys, swap out your shields," Fang Hao said,
The skeleton soldiers who were called out discarded their damaged shields and picked up the gear of their fallen comrades.
The recent battle, even though the undead side had an absolute advantage in numbers,
Still resulted in the loss of eight skeleton soldiers.
Among the replacements were shields with better condition taken from the fallen.
After gearing up, the team continued their exploration of the map.
...
Inside the gnoll camp.
The camp that had previously been swept clean welcomed a new group.
Their heights were two meters tall, paired with gaping mouths and fierce appearances exuding wild and ferocious energy.
They were distinctly different from the gnolls.
These individuals were true orc warriors.
Inherently aggressive, war and plunder were their only interests.
Inside the clan leader's hall.
The gnoll clan leader stood apprehensively to the side, constantly wiping the sweat from his brow.
He had never imagined that the reinforcements he requested would turn out to be the most violent-tempered "Kedo."
Kedo was a young orc.
Both the leader of the tribe and the son of the Fireblade Tribe's clan leader.
At this moment, the gnoll clan leader couldn't be certain if calling on the Fireblade Tribe for assistance was the right decision.
"So you're saying that while you were gone, your camp was attacked by these undead?" Kedo's voice was heavy.
"Y-yes," the gnoll hurriedly replied.
"This village is rich? I haven't heard of anything valuable coming from the undead," Kedo asked again.
He had brought his team not to avenge the gnoll camp,
But because he had heard the village was wealthy—and came expressly to loot.
"Rich, very rich," the gnoll clan leader said with a sycophantic smile.
"It better be, because if I find out you're lying to me, I'll turn your head into a decoration and hang it on the wall," Kedo's voice bore the weight of killing intent and menace.
The gnoll clan leader broke into an even heavier sweat, repeatedly insisting he wouldn't dare.
At that same moment, the scout tasked with investigating the situation returned and stepped into the hall.
"My lord, the situation has been scouted. There is indeed an undead village, but the village is protected by an energy shield," the scout reported solemnly.
Kedo listened as his expression gradually darkened.
Once the scout departed, he let out an enraged roar, "How dare you deceive me! I'll chop off your head and make it into a chamber pot!"
The Fireblade Tribe had prior encounters with energy shields.
The energy shield effectively safeguarded the village—even the most powerful equipment couldn't break through it.
This meant their efforts were for nothing; no matter how low the village's defenses, they couldn't get in.
The gnoll clan leader was frightened by the roaring outburst.
*He had absolutely no idea what the energy shield was capable of and had only wanted the Fireblade Tribe to help him get revenge.*
"I wouldn't dare, I wouldn't dare."
Just as Kedo was about to draw his war blade and hack the gnoll into pieces, a voice interrupted the pair's conversation.
"Commander Kedo, if you want to capture this village, I have a plan."
All eyes in the hall simultaneously turned toward the speaker.
This was a human, wearing a Nike tracksuit over leather armor, with a brown-covered book hanging at his waist.
Kedo's imposing presence attracted the attention of all those present.
Only now did they notice that amidst the orc tribe hall, there stood a lone human.
Kedo suppressed his internal rage and said coldly, "What's your plan?"
After finishing his sentence, he sprawled back into his seat nonchalantly.
"Since there's a shield, it's very likely to be one of my clansmen. If the village can't be breached, lure him out and kill him. Once he's dead, the shield will naturally disappear," the human said with a smile.
This person's name was Zhuang Hong.
Unluckily, on the second day of his journey through this world, his territory was discovered by the Fireblade Tribe.
His territory was equipped with a shield that the orcs couldn't penetrate, but they camped outside, blocking his realm's development regardless.
Farmers couldn't go out to gather resources.
Zhuang Hong proved to have a knack for negotiation; he struck a deal with the orcs for his village to become a tributary to the tribe.
No need to develop military forces—just continuously gather resources for the Fireblade Tribe.
Now traveling with Kedo, when he heard of the energy shield, he guessed it belonged to another lord.
And this lord would become the gift he offered to Kedo.
"You're confident?"
Hearing Zhuang Hong's plan, Kedo's eyes lit up.
Orcs weren't skilled in nor did they value tricks and schemes, but even they could recognize potential in this idea.
"It's worth a try," Zhuang Hong replied.
"Good. If you succeed, I'll propose to my father to grant you more authority."
"Thank you," Zhuang Hong said with delight, hurriedly expressing his thanks.
...
Nearing dusk.
Fang Hao led his team back to the territory.
In addition to exploring nearby maps, they also hunted large numbers of beasts.
Increasing reserves of meat and beast skins.
After all, every day there was a large group of people waiting hungrily for him to provide food.
Cancelling the [God's Presence] state, all the prey was slaughtered.
[Slaughter complete, gained +7500 meat, +450 beast skins, +300 beast bones.]
It's the fourth day since crossing over.
Yet everyone's demand for meat hasn't waned.
*He could bear being a little harsh on himself, eating less, tolerating hunger.*
*But the farmers and soldiers needed food to replenish their strength and increase loyalty.*
Recorded the [Spiritual Field Blueprint] into the Book of Lords.
[Materials required for Level 1 Spiritual Field: 1500 wood, 800 stone, 300 hemp rope, 5 Natural Gems, 1 Trace of the Earth.]
The green quality blueprint required significant materials.
Natural Gems and Trace of the Earth both belonged to rare resources.
Luckily, the stockpile contained all the necessary materials.
Holding the Book of Lords, he selected a flat plot outside the village for construction.
Wooden fences marked out the area; wild grasses disappeared, and the soil became soft—not as hard-packed as before.
Standing at the perimeter, he paced the distance in strides.
It measured roughly as a 10-by-10-meter square field.
There were, however, no crop seeds yet.
Heading back into the territory.
He sat on a bench outside the wooden house, simmering soup while opening the regional channel.
A flood of information scrolled past, appearing rapid-fire:
"Any brothers know first aid? I've been bitten by a wolf. What should I do to prevent rabies?"
"Dinner time!"
"I'll sit at the kids' table."
"Seriously, guys, I've really been bitten—it's a deep wound. Stop joking around."
"Immediately rinse the wound with water, and squeeze out the contaminated blood."
"Is river water okay?"
"Clean water is best, to avoid infection."
"Alright, thanks, guys."
Following that, Fang Hao's private chat promptly popped up.
Opening it, he found it was the same lord who had just been asking about wound care.
"Big brother Fang Hao, are you there? I'm begging you for help—can we trade for a cast-iron pot? I want to boil some water."
