"This man, what's he thinking?…"

Itachi wanted to analyze the elder's expression more but his Sharingan boosted with the byakugan deactivated, it was a miracle that he lasted this long. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to unleash the full potential of these eyes since he had no chakra.

He could only activate the bare minimum, Itachi deduced it was because of the system that he was even able to activate these eyes in the first place, albeit it was capped at the bare minimum but without it, he would've most likely died today, it was better than nothing.

"Hmm this is an issue, this world is fraught with danger, however, I have no idea how to increase my 'realm', at this rate ill be stuck at a mere 1 tomoe Sharingan"

This was a huge problem for Itachi, he realized he has to increase his strength as soon as possible, he wanted to survive and explore this world. The heavens had gifted him a new chance at life, he was adamant about cherishing that chance…

The bushes a few meters away from Itachi started to Rustle and move, Itachi instantly got up and dashed towards a corner of the camp, he found a tree and then settled down. Whatever was behind that bush, he wasn't about to be caught off guard and give his life away for free.

Itachi continued to stare at the moving bushes, then an adult's leg peeked out, then a human body followed suit, it was a man in luxurious robes, he had a very elegant look and a stern gaze. He was holding a bunch of wooden logs in both arms.

It was elder Lee!

Elder Lee looked at the scene and a shocked expression could be seen on his face.

"Wha-what happened here?!?!"

Elder Lee stammered backward and almost fell over, he looked at the kid's corpses that were laying on the ground.

"I was away for an hour and this is what happens, dammit!"

Itachi was seated leaning on a tree nearby with an indifferent expression on his face, he was silently watching the show from the sidelines with a cold glare, if one looked at his eyes, one would be able to see the immense killing intent seeping out.

Anger? Those were emotions Itachi let go of a long time ago, anger was for the weak. Itachi was a cold-blooded killer, his emotions would rarely seep out, even if he was angry he would never let it show on his face. Letting the enemy know what you were thinking was as good as telling him your next move.

" This man needs to die, if left alive he will cause too much trouble, " Itachi said inwardly.

Elder lee suddenly came to a stop then looked left and right as if to check if anyone was watching, after realizing the coast was clear, he heaved a sigh of relief. He had put on a show in case any of the other kids were alive and watching.

Slowly a vicious smile appeared on elder Lee's face, at the same time the moonlight shone on his face, this made it all the more creepier, anyone who saw it would think they were looking at a monster and not a human.

" Useless shits looks like that wolf I sent here did the job, too bad this month's batch of recruits all died, not a single talent amongst them! That wolf seemed to of eaten his share then ran away, I couldn't even take the beast essence "

The more elder Lee thought of the outcome of the battle the angrier he got, that smug smile on his face also disappeared, he had hoped there to be at least one survivor.

Elder Lee walked around a few more steps and looked at the corpses sprawled all over, 2 people were missing.

"The fatty and that scrawny kid Ling Feng, where are they?"

Elder Lee continued to walk a few more steps and then saw a shocking scene.

" The wolves there! Someone killed it, did an expert coincidentally come across this place..?"

" No, it can't be, why would there be a rogue cultivator in the middle of nowhere "

As Elder Lee got closer to the corpse he saw a massive lump of flesh sprawled on the ground, it was Bai Xiao Chun, he was fast asleep and snoring.

Elder Lee was instantly infuriated by this scene, he lightly kicked Bai Xiao Chun so he would wake up but there was no response.

"…"

" Hey! Wake up you fat shit! "

Elder Lee bellowed at the top of his lungs, finally, Bai Xiao Chun opened his eyes.

" Huh, what do you want?! Who you calling a fat shit!!"

Bai Xiao Chun lazily rubbed his eyes open then looked at the person who insulted him.

Realization instantly dawned on him, it was elder Lee! He got up as fast as he could then bowed at the elder.

" Hehe, sorry elder Lee, I heard someone calling me fat in my dream, my apologies, I'm not fat, I'm big-boned "

Elder Lee ignored his comment then looked at him and asked " What happened here, who killed that wolf? "

Bai Xiao Chun started to sweat as memories before passing out assaulted his mind, he recounted what happened to the elder bit by bit, fear still lingering in his speech.

" So when that wolf was about to attack you, you passed out and don't remember anything after that? "

"Yes"

Elder Lee was lost in thought as he pondered on who the culprit could be, Lin Feng didn't even cross his mind, as far as he knew, Ling Feng had fallen into the wolf's stomach.

Elder Lee pushed his thoughts to the back of his mind and then started to search through the wolf's corpse.

" The beast essence isnt here! Not only that but it seems like it was perfectly removed, even a skilled hunter would have trouble removing a beast essence without damaging the carcass, who is this expert? "

As elder Lee stopped searching the wolf's body, he got up, and turned around to leave, but as he was turning around something caught his eye…

He looked back at that spot, he thought his eyes were playing tricks on him. He then focused his eyes and saw something out of a nightmare.

In the darkness, the figure of a youth drenched in blood could be seen, his face indifferent, as if he didn't care what happened around him, it seemed as though even if the sky fell, this youth would not move a muscle.

Elder lee looked at that lone figure in trepidation and uttered a name.

" Lin Feng…? "
