The monster's head fell to the ground, pierced through, and left its lifeless body on the ground, the head was smashed, and black blood was very smelly and scattered all around. Even Alan who was seven steps away from them was still getting stung, he untied the monster's body and Eric breathed a sigh of relief and managed to stop this mad monster.
"Any news from Arumi?"
"Not yet, if you have. Usually, the roots here move to swallow carrion—" Alan stopped what he was saying and saw huge thickets of thickets rising out of the ground that made their feet rattle from the movement of the roots.
"It's only just begun," Eric said moving away with Alan from the monster's corpse.
Gradak!Gradak!Gradak!
The ground continued to move until the monster sank into the ground along with the tree roots, all of which looked stunning and also a bit noisy. There were no injuries or deaths, it was just that the two of them were exhausted from following the monster's instincts and a little tired.
"Their smell makes me sick!" Alan said while looking at his body that was splattered with the monster's blood earlier.
"That's over, we should go back and see their colonists," Eric said ignoring his friend's complaints.
And then the two of them sped off quickly, disappearing, leaving behind a rushing air after the two of them left.
.....
"Shireen, if the village has been invaded by monsters. Please go and run immediately with Marcus and the others, we will be migrating after a long time of not moving. You have to survive, I am your grandfather, I will support whatever your choice in the future!" said the Aegis towards his granddaughter who was about to take a walk in the village.
Even though there were still overcast clouds on her face, which often turned into the rain because of her pitiful cries.
"Monsters, are they looking for the person who is here?"
"The people here are the object of their failed research and grandfather saved, of course, they don't want them to open the veil from the terrible experiments in the world. That's why they never tire of chasing us all."
"I haven't mastered my powers, even my transformation into a wolf hasn't been possible until now," Shireen said without looking at her grandfather.
The two of them walked together in the village head's back garden, for several weeks she stayed here and tried to slowly release the shackles of her sadness. Even if it didn't work, at least Shireen started practicing a few things to awaken her strength. Her grandfather said, that her strength had not been able to be released because it was destined to be like that.
One day, surely she could use it. That was why now she had to at least practice the basics, so as not to be confused about controlling her powers.
"It's okay, the elemental power passed down from our ancestors is very easy to control. As long as your mind is not in a state of anger, then that power will not explode." The Aegis said to Shireen who nodded slowly. "I only saw the potential for elemental power in you, we haven't seen anything else. But at least you have recognized almost all the strength of the people of Solus village."
Shireen stared at the not-so-wide garden, to be precise. This garden has more ordinary plants, unlike the garden in her parents' castle. Beautiful as well as charming, it's really simple.
Even at the end of the garden, there is a small farm, where vegetables and fruits are located. People in Solus village grow their fruit and vegetables, they will come out when the supply of meat in the barn runs out.
"Grandpa will come for the extermination?" Shireen asked his grandfather.
"Yes, because it seems this time. Their colony attacked more, and one of them managed to enter our village forest area. And it attracts the colony to come, they are like ants. Every time one of them finds the target of our village, he leaves a trail of scent to attract the colony."
"Do you know who created the monsters? Because it feels so cruel, they are experimenting with living objects from our race."
"No, grandpa hasn't found it yet. It's just that what Grandpa knows now from one of the last rescued said, that the experiment dissected their bodies. exchange it with another race, then inject a red liquid which is believed to be blood. Before then, they would fall asleep as if they were in hibernation, but when they woke up after a full day they would become a different person. Completely turned 180 degrees, neither intelligent nor able to speak." Said the Aegis to his granddaughter
He opened all this veil to his granddaughter because fate was near to her. He could even feel the cold wind, how his sturdy back became weaker and sorer. There wasn't much time, which was why he had to provide all this information.
"Blood..."
"Yeah, did you say something?"
"Ah no. I just thought that means their master has the power of his blood to turn someone into a monster, is that so?"
"That's most likely the case, several times we've raided their underground experiment ground. Never found results, but from our observations, they turned out to be wrong. The owner of this cursed blood, he is not the real master, he is just an accomplice who helps the real master to gather calamity." The Aegis said to Shireen who was listening obediently.
It wasn't long before a siren sounded from the main alarm in the village. That meant that the monster colony had invaded the Solus village's protective forest.
"It's about time, I hope you will think about what you want to do after this." The Aegis said as he gently patted his granddaughter's shoulder.
