Xavier dispelled the purple mist hiding Letti's whereabouts to see the girl's face. Her black eyes filled with tears made Xavier's heart touched.
One of his hands rose to wipe the tears falling from the corners of her eyes.
"Why are you crying?"
Letti shook her head, "I don't know. Maybe I sympathize with that magician."
"There's no need to sympathize. Even at the last second, I didn't feel any resistance from him or his resentment toward the world. I'm sure his soul would be accepted into the upper world."
"I've heard of the upper world, but I never thought it was real."
"The place is real but hard to find. We've been here too long; let's go."
Letti felt at home as Xavier circled his arms around her waist and carried her into his arms. The same purple mist enveloped them, and they had shifted places in an instant.
This time they were in a place opposite the shadow realm.
