Early Morning:

In a training ground behind a big house which was built near a Gym, a kid around 9 years old was sitting on table, there was another man in his sixties was also sitting beside him. They were looking towards sunrise, there were pidgey, pidgeotto flying towards forest and two pokemon one was blue bipedal and other was purple colored quadruple, were running around in the big training ground. There was another bipedal insectoid pokemon who was sitting leisurely near a tree in the corner.

"So today you are leaving." Said the old man to the kid sitting beside him.

"Yes gramps." Replied Kid and continued looking towards the two playing pokemon.

"Good, but Ethen you know this right ? In new year you won't be having much theoretical part but there will be more to learn about training and some task to complete too." Said Old Man, it was Mr. Smith who was speaking with Ethen. Ethen was leaving today for pokemon university.

"Yes Gramps, I know this. I checked the details about second year course pattern from the booklet sent by University." Replied Ethen calmly.

Ethen already checked yesterday the booklet which was sent along with promotion letter, in that it was mentioned that second year will have only 4 subjects in two semesters which will be precisely about Pokemon types which is two parts and one part in each semester and other two books are about Training and taming wild pokemon.

After that their were tournament at the end of the year between students of same year, for that tournament students were required to have atleast 3 pokemon, League knew that there are some students who already have one or more pokemon of there own and will get additional one when university will offer them a pokemon. So to give other trainers (without pokemon prior to getting one from university) opportunity to add new pokemon in rooster, University organizes two trips to other region or kanto where they can catch few pokemon of their own. Also while doing certain task (There are only group tasks for Second year students) they can catch new pokemon if they come across any.

Theory have 50% weightage in overall marks, Tournament ranking also give certain marks to students which have 30% weightage and remaining 20% for performance while completing task. So if you are in top 20 in theory and in top 16 in tournament than you can surely get promoted to next year.

"Good, lets go back, breakfast must be ready and after that you will have to leave." Replied Mr. Smith and stood up from chair, Ethen tagged along with him and his all three pokemons also followed him back towards home.

After family of five ate their breakfast, Ethen packed his stuffs along with some poke-cubes which were specially prepared by his Grandpa for his three pokemons.

"When you get a new pokemon from university, tell me about it and I will prepare special food for that too which will be enough for one year." Said Mr. Smith.

"Thanks Grandpa." Ethen thanked with big smile on his face.

"Obviously we should help you grow properly, so when you leave for your own journey, you can earn good position and money to give good food or materials to your pokemon." Said Mr. Smith while caressing head of Jr. Smith as he knew how hard it is to survive in wild, though the current poke cubes he gave to Ethen were only slightly better than average quality, these were still good for Ethen's pokemon. Because its always better to have something than nothing.

"Are you ready Ethen ?" Came sound of Ethen's father who was waiting outside for him.

"Yes, Dad, all done just a minute." Said Ethen and bid farewell to his family then ran outside.

William who was waiting for Ethen with his Pidgeot, saw him coming outside and helped Ethen to sit on Pidgeot then both flew away in horizon towards Vermilion City.
