I think its better for the MC to be affiliated with other guilds while not being in the guild like honorary member or something, but then its better to just join Fairy tail during or after the time skip.

Good chapter he should increase his speed though like kizaru in one piece so he can say thoose corny lines like “have you ever been kicked at the speed of light” in all seriousness though he should use his light magic to boost his speed to insane level to become one of the fastest people in Ishgar if not the fastest with only a few possibly being faster like laxus and racer.
