SOUL: Supreme Overlord's Unknown Legacy

It was a stormy, rain-filled night. The skies were covered with dark clouds. Nothing could be seen as the moon was hidden too.

Everyone stayed in their small hut-like houses which were made up of mud and covered with wood and branches. No one dared to go outside as they knew of the event that was happening.

Two Supreme Overlords were fighting against each other.

Yes, it was one of the highest titles that a Beast-Cultivator could gain.

In this world, everyone is born with a beast soul. However, only those who have suitable beast souls can train themselves to become cultivators.

There are mainly three types of beast souls – Wild-type beast souls, Pet-type beast souls, and Farm-type beast souls.

Within these three categories, many other forms are included.

Regardless, when one trains his beast souls, they slowly get stronger.

There are eleven ranks in total – Beast Cultivator, Beast-Warrior, Beast Knight, Beast Commander, Beast Supreme Commander, Beast General, Beast Supreme General, Beast King, Beast Overlord, Beast Supreme Overlord, and Beast God.

The difference between a human and a beast is their appearance. Everything else is the same. Because of this, humans were able to train using the power of the beasts.

They would gain levels and become stronger with their powers to fend them off and fight against their foes.

The way to get the power of the beasts is to kill them and then eat their hearts. The beasts store their powers in their hearts. Their soul power and their mental strength, all get accumulated in their heart after their death due to which, their heart beats longer and stays alive even after their death.

Because of this, when a cultivator kills a beast and eats its heart, they will experience an increase in their power levels.

The one who has killed the beast will be the only one who can gain their powers. To others, the beast would be just a delicacy and nothing more.

But this doesn't mean that one can hunt and eat the hearts of a beast whenever he desires. There is a certain moment only when one can do that, and that is when one has reached the peak of a rank.

When one starts cultivating, their Beast Soul will be at level 01, this is the only time when one can eat a beast's heart and once he does, his beast soul will awaken. This would make him a beast cultivator.

Then, when the person reaches level 10, he would be at the peak of the rank Beast Cultivator. He can now hunt another beast and eat its heart with which, he will be able to continue training and increase his power to level 11. Unless he eats the beast's heart, he would be stuck at the same level for eternity.

So this means, the Beast Supreme Overlords are within the range of level 91-99. Yes, the ones who break through this barrier are termed Beast Gods. For a thousand years, no one has become a Beast God!

Beast Warrior: 11 to 20

Beast Knight: 21 to 30

Beast Commander: 31 to 40

Beast Supreme Commander: 41 to 50

Beast General: 51 to 60

Beast Supreme General: 61 to 70

Beast Supreme Overlord: 91 to 99

Of course, eating beast hearts have a certain advantage – they give the eater some skills related to the beast that they have eaten.

And sometimes, rarely, one could get Beast Tools or Beast Weapons which would help them in combat. Those weapons can come in various shapes and forms. Some may be just a simple sword while others could be tons of flying shards.

"So, when Sir Leko takes you tomorrow to test and awaken your Beast Souls, you need to follow procedures so that you get a good Beast Heart to eat.", said a lady who worked at an orphanage filled with children.

The Orphanage's walls weren't that good. It seemed as if they could fall anytime soon. Nevertheless, nothing could be done since the orphanage would rarely get any budget.

There were very few children who were barely 6, sitting in a circle as the lady mentioned this.

She wasn't a teacher so whatever came to her mind, she just said it.

Out of all the children, there was a boy who seemed remarkably different from others.

He had white hair which was quite rare in the Revione – the name of the continent – in Beast Land.

Yes, Beast Land was literally the name of the world.

He had fair skin but his hairs were white which called for bullying. But no, not even a single child bullied him, instead, they all respected him.

They were nice to him because he was nice to them and yes, they treated him like an elder brother.

"Auntie, I have a question!", the boy raised his hand along with his voice.

"Ah, yes Leo.", the lady turned her attention towards Leo.

"I want to know about the two Supreme Overlords that are fighting.", he said.

"Ah!"

"Of course, let me tell you about them."

The two Supreme Overlords that were fighting in the sky were from different tribes.

One of them was Level 91 Supreme Overlord who had the Beast Soul of Volcanic Kong, while the other Supreme Overlord was at level 93 with the Beast Soul of Sky Tiger.

"They are very strong."

"Their attacks are so powerful that we normal people cannot stand in front of it."

"That is why, we are all staying inside.", she said.

"But if we stay inside, won't we die if the walls collapse?", Leo asked.

"Ah, the walls are strong. Nothing like that will happen.", the aunt said.

A little girl was sitting just next to the aunt. She saw the aunt's hand trembling so she asked, "Auntie, why are your hands shaking? Are you scared?"

"…"

The aunt paused and then stared at the girl. She then smiled and said, "Yes, I am scared of lightning."

"Haha, auntie, you are funny. You are so old but you are still scared of lightning. Haha.", the children started laughing.

But no matter what she said, she couldn't fool Leo.

'You can fool others but not me, auntie.', Leo said as he looked at her.

'Ha…'

'If I was just another boy, then I might have been fooled.', he said as he recalled his memories of the past.

Yes, he was someone who had been reincarnated in this world!
