Yato's words left the shopkeeper a little surprised, but he didn't question the young man. Both chatted for a few more minutes as Urahara decided to give a brief explanation of Rukia's situation.
After talking with Urahara, Yato decided that he wouldn't wait for Ichigo to wake up and went back home, not minding the rain.
Tomorrow will be the last day of school before the August break and for the first time since he arrived in this world, Yato didn't intend to show up at school.
Yato: 'In two days, Ichigo, Inoue, Chad and Ishida will start training to go to Soul Society…but I don't know about Tatsuki…Although she is stronger, she would compete in the nationals so I don't know exactly if they could train her…'
After walking for a while, Yato had finally arrived home and the first thing he did was call his fullbring, which took the form of the red cat.
Cheshire: "I already miss being able to throw myself on that couch~"
Yato: "Come to think of it…since Rukia came here you've avoided materializing…anyway…" - The young man sat down on the living room floor in a meditative pose. After a few seconds, he opened his eyes, looking towards Cheshire.
Cheshire: ".... What are you doing…?"
Yato: "I was trying to meditate…but I felt like I would fall asleep if I kept my eyes closed for a few more seconds…I've never tried to meditate before…by the way…if I'm already a shinigami…how do I get out of my human body ?"
Cheshire: "Want to try borrowing Kon~? Hehehe~"
Yato: "Urahara must already have his eye on me and I don't want to give him the chance to analyze my body while I'm in shinigami form."
Cheshire: "So you want to change your body into spirit form?"
Yato: "....Yes? Can I…?"
Cheshire: "Can you~?"
Yato: "I don't know! You tell me!"
The cat just laughed at the teenager's reaction, which made him even more frustrated.
Cheshire: "Calm down, you crybaby." - The cat jumped on Yato's face, and almost as if it had the same effect as being pushed by Rukia's glove, the cat made Yato's spirit leave his body.
Yato was lying on the ground, now wearing the same black kimono as the shinigami and with a full-sized katana strapped to his waist.
Yato: "At least the plan to connect the threads in Ichigo's asauchi worked…"
When he got up, he found his physical body lying in the middle of the room.
Yato: "This...is disturbing..."
Cheshire: "I'll give you an idea…why don't you try…talk to your zanpakuto?"
Yato: "That's not an idea... I would do it anyway... What does that have to do with the plan to not let my body lie around like that?" - The young man said pointing to the body lying in the room.
Cheshire: "As for that…find out for yourself~"
Yato snorted, but followed the cat's advice anyway.
He sat down again and placed Asauchi in his lap. Normally, it would take a person to use the zanpakuto for a while so that the asauchi could have enough contact with the user's spiritual energy. To enter the inner world, for a beginner, it would be necessary at least for the person to meditate until he is fully accustomed to doing such a thing.
Yato had never used a zanpakuto and never considered meditating even once. The young man basically didn't have the two things necessary for him to be able to get in touch with his zanpakuto, so he decided to do what he always did when he couldn't win challenges in a game. He cheated.
Utilizing his ability as a Fullbring to manipulate and shape the souls of objects, Yato tried to speed up the process of making the asauchi absorb a lot of his spiritual energy.
Despite being unable to meditate due to being a little restless, Yato was quite focused if he was doing a single task of interest to him.
Yato: 'The zanpakuto is the manifestation of a shinigami's soul and that makes it manifest with certain personality traits of its bearers…so…from the little I know of myself…if I imbue more of my energy to the spirit of the zanpakuto take shape…my own zanpakuto will pull me into the inner world without me meditating.'
The young man kept doing this for a few more hours and as much as he wanted to get his zanpakuto soon, due to the hour, he started to get sleepy. Seeing that apparently he still had no results, Yato stopped what he was doing and returned to his body.
Yato: "Tomorrow I'll continue…if I don't go to school I'll have even more time to do this…" - He said while he was going to take a shower and get ready for bed.
***
It was dawn and Yato woke up thanks to the light passing through the window. He was always slow to wake up fully in the mornings and often overlooked things around him, but this time something caught his attention.
The blurry vision didn't let him see what was going on, but he could still hear things and at the moment, he heard music.
Yato: 'Did I go to sleep and leave the TV on…?'
The music sounded a lot like the Lo-Fi Hip Hop he used to listen to when he woke up.
When his vision began to return, the young man realized that he was no longer in the room. He was lying on a familiar couch.
Yato: 'Wait…but this place is where I used to live before this mess of going to another world happened…!'
The young man got up quickly and started looking around the house to see if he could find anyone but neither his mother nor his cats were there.
He sighed, it's not known if it was out of relief to be back at his house or out of frustration for having woken up just when cool things were going to happen in that world.
He decided to sit for a while still processing everything that had happened so far and looked around almost as if he was getting used to being in his old house.
Yato: "Looks like there's no saving Rukia then…"
As he said those words, the music that was playing changed. Instead of the beats of a Lo-Fi Hip Hop now the boy heard the sounds of violin, piano and guitar, remembering a Folk-pop style that was another style of music that he liked to listen to.
Yato: 'Heh? But I didn't switch songs…'
The young man looked at the TV in the living room where he used to leave YouTube on so he could listen to these songs and realized that the TV was off.
Yato: "If everything is off…where is the music coming from?"
Almost as if answering his question, the sound of the music increased, accompanied by a beautiful voice that began to sing. It was a female voice that seemed to echo everywhere, giving off a strange, dreamy, comforting feeling.
The boy got up from the sofa, trying to identify where the voice was coming from and as he walked through the backyard of the house, he noticed that the voice became clearer every time he approached the gate.
When he opened the gate of the house, he was faced with a beautiful sunset of many colors that seemed to leave everything around him somewhat obscured.
The street where he lived looked like two completely different places had merged. On one side the young man saw some houses that resembled his original world, on the other side it looked like an old Japanese district.
There was no one there, there were no people, cars or animals and even so the boy continued to hear that beautiful voice that did not stop singing.
After looking for a while, Yato came across a silhouette on top of a hill and judging by the appearance, the person was dressed in a way that was quite out of place.
He got closer to the singer who was apparently the only person in that place and when he had a better view of her, he realized how much she was out of line with that place.
The woman was tall and had long black hair and turquoise eyes. She had pale skin, and had small red marks under her right eye. What caught a lot of attention on her face, in addition to her beauty, was a large helmet on her head in the shape of a red and black bird with a golden beak.
Her attire consists of a slightly revealing red and black kimono with details in the form of large black feathers on the waist area and arms, resembling large wings.
She had long black thigh-high stockings and she wore a pair of black koma geta with red straps.
Yato: "....Hello...?" - He said waving to the woman.
She looked at the boy for a while and then crossed her arms. Her hands looked like black claws except for her thumbs.
Initially the woman's expression was one of dissatisfaction, but it soon changed to a small smile.
She placed her right hand on her chest and made a small curtsy.
Woman: "Thou art my master, who summoned me beyond the withered reach of time...Born as the new calorous moon to engage and slay at your grim command...?
Yato: "....What…..?"
